I didn't restart this thread, but I agree its time to nuke Cherry. Rhymes with puke. He shows replays of Lindros getting a concussion, and says, "You'll never see hits like this again/" That seems good.
Get the psychopathic headhunters out of the game who have no respect for other people. And guys won't stop hitting, they will have to hit a bit more intelligently, and try to avoid the other guy's head, doesn't sound too hard. The games I saw last night had plenty of hitting. They guy's crankier than me.
You should learn to read and then consider changing your nick, because you pay more attention to running down aboriginals and Don Cherry than you do to Dumping the Monarchy.

I don't watch him, haven't for years, got fed up with him long ago, i've got more intelligent
people to listen to, and yes, of course, its all about the money, isn't everything concerning

he plays a part on a tv show, that's his job, do you really think anybody could be like that in real life? have you ever watched family guy? as far as fighting in hockey? well I love the game and it is part of the game. I am a bigger basketball fan and in resent years things have changed in the nba to the point that it has hurt the game one punch thrown can cost a team the championship, and has. If you want to clean up pro sports a bit focus on the refs, they need more of them we could make it so they could have a meeting every 2 min. for 5 min. to figure out what to call so everything could be perfect, oh don't stop there, we could clean the ice every minute and have body doubles for players. What about change the game all the way and have 3 or 4 downs every 10 yards? Just saying....

and also the fighting has to be dealt with, at least the 'staged' fighting, it is phony, I can understand
a fight breaking out as emotions get high in the middle of a play, that will not go away, and it isn't
usually caused by very large, fighting males, who are on the ice for that purpose only.
A few of those 'fighting' types even went to a fighting school in the off season to learn how to fight
better, so that they can compete in fights in the game, that has to stop.
The game is hockey, rough, fast competetive hockey, not hand to hand combat, or bare knuckle fighting.
And one player that said that he didn't say those things apparently did say those things.
Cherry can be a little abrasive from time to time, but I think he's entertaining to watch(and does bring across some good points).
