With job action and strife, right at the get go of the school year, is it a case of "enough's enough"? What do you think?
What's the rate of inflation in BC? How much are they asking for?
Clean up the mess in Victoria and BC might be a place where people can prosper and get tax relief instead of needing to bargain for basics.
Sell more raw logs, sell off more Crown assets, it's worked great for the past 35 years hasn't it?

What basics would the already overpaid teachers be bargaining for? What crown assets have been sold?
The vast majority of raw log sales are from private property. WHich is no different than a farmer selling wheat instead of loaves of bread.
Really? Raw materials? Like? Ingredients for pine cone soup? Not sure if that has much to do with the teachers' dispute, but historically it has been B.C. who has provided the raw materials and Ontario who has done the manufacturing.

Ontario has no trees? No fish? No copper? Lead? Zinc? Gold? Gas? Nat gas going to ON? Not bloody likely.
You might want to look into that
And out mines BC in everything but copper.....I believe I said Ontario does manufacturing.

You hit one but Chilean imports are cheaper. Not surprising being that Ontario is larger than B.C. and sits on top of the Canadian Shield. Outmines us for nickel that's for sure. How about moly?
Majority of forestry land and logging rights are leased from the Crown. It's not from private land. What basics would the already overpaid teachers be bargaining for? What crown assets have been sold?

When Victoria cleans up their act there will be more to spread around for everyone. Without education the entire province would grind to an abrupt halt rather than it's current banana slug crawl. The classic struggle is on and there are two sides to this. Let me set the scene.
Our government claims there is no money and for the most part they are right.
there is no money because of constant deficits and overspending and project
overruns.
Provincial Government over sight is all but blind. The convention center in hundreds
of millions over budget, supposed to cost 3 to 4 hundred million came in over a
billion, that's right over a billion. They built a roof on a stadium that doesn't really do
the job, original cost around 450 million could come close to twice that in the end.
These aer two examples of the mess they made. Even the HST was really brought
in to hide the real deficit at the time, they used it for deficit reduction 1.6 billion and
still they had a 1.7 billion dollar deficit. The bills have been piling up for years with
the present government, in fact they have a worse record than the NDP ever had.
Now should there be money for the teachers and the educational programs they need.
Yes and No At this time like it or not the money is not there for personal improvements
to what they have. As for class sizes and special needs kids, they should put more money
into those programs along with nutrition and so on.. Two weeks off when someone dies?
No.
The negotiation process has to be brought under control, true, but then this government
must be brought under control and I think that is likely to happen at the next election.

Fact. Educated people don't have anywhere near the amount of health problems as those without. We used to mine quite a lot of asbestos too, but I guess that stuff is politically incorrect now- works good if you don't drill it or sand it.
Vernon Hospital is bigger priority than the teachers!
