Here's a bit of Stanley Cup trivia for you. This is the first time in 20 years that no penalties were called in a Stanley Cup play-off game. And, this Stanley Cup will see the greatest distance between opponents in the history of the Cup. Got all that off TSN after the game.

Interesting indeed, and a truly west/east final, very fitting.

manny malhotra can have full practices now, with light contact, and there is a possibility that he will
play before this is all over.

i'm sure ready for the finals, BUT I do realize, and i'm glad that the players are having this time to
heal all of their battle injuries, and regroup, so they're ready for the next round. It will be fair
for all of them, no team has to play after only two days, this time.

Global BC was reporting this morning that many employers in Vancouver are going to work around their employees schedules so they can watch the Canucks games. Good on them realizing that this is something that most fans wouldn't miss no matter what, heck the employers probably don't want to miss the games either. LOL!

Tampa Bay would have been even farther. The only match-up which could be a larger distance is the Panthers versus Canucks.

Mea Culpa- Upon further checking with larger scale maps, T.B. is actually closer to 110 miles further than Boston.............for any trivia buffs!:lol:

Has anyone else seen the movie called 'The Rocket'? CBC aired it tonight and I am so glad I watched it - fabulous tribute to Maurice Richard that details his rise to hockey fame and the hurdles that French Canadian players faced back in the day. I had often heard of the Rocket but had no idea of the immense impact he had on the game, his monumental scoring ability and the love that Quebec, most especially, had for this great man. I now understand why Habs fans are such fanatics about their team and its history. I would highly recommend it to all hockey fans.

I remember him slightly as a player still playing, but mostly I remember henry richard,(the pocket rocket), he was my
favourite player for a long time, then guy lafleur came along and then he was my favourite player,
BUT then the canucks were born, l970, (along with my youngest daughter)that year, and also secretariat
in l970.

Maurice Richard was a big strong determined competetive 'winner', and he would pack other players
along behind him, as they tried to stop him.

I also remember montreal rioting the night they suspended him, that was the craziest thing I
remember in canadian hockey.

I'll watch for the show about him.
