its got to be more than that doesn't it? south east corner of the continent compared to straight
east, just assuming.

The U.S. is broader across the top than the bottom and the Atlantic coast kind of tapers from N.E. to S.W. and then of course you would be flying on the diagonal, but still 1/2 hour is just a guess and I could be way out to lunch. Does anyone know for sure? Maybe I can google it somewhere.

I would not have believed it but distance by crow from Vancouver to T.B. is only about 20 miles further than from Vancouver to Boston!

thanks, would never have realized that fact, good to know.

And what about the other "fact"- that the opposition is going to drop dead from frustration after 31/2 games!:lol::lol: (I'm seriously laughing here) oooooooooooh - that don't quite sound right..............you figure it out.

Boston ahead 2 - 1 at end of 1rst.

Timmie let in his usual first goal then Boston took over out shooting TB 8 - 4 so far.

Purcell put TB on the board early with a real beauty right off the face-off, picture perfect.

Lucic with assists from Horton and Boychuk tied the game then Krecji with an assist from Paille put the Bruins ahead.

Has it occurred to everyone that the further the Canucks go in the playoffs, the stronger they get- it took 7 games to beat the 8th place team, 6 games to beat the 5th place team and 5 games to beat the 2nd place team. I would think both Boston and T.B. are dreading the thought of the next round.

I was thinking about this earlier, JLM. !rst round - 7. 2nd round - 6. 3rd round - 5. So..........4th round (the Cup) in 4! Right!

Heck, JLM........you know much more about hockey than I do, I was just kidding around. 5 it will be then.

Now it is 3 - 2 for TB. Martie St Louis tied it with a beaut from Lecavalier. Then, Purcell got his second goal at 13:35 of the 2nd. Lots of penalties in this game, mostly to TB which has sent their coach into his usual tantrums, though to be fair the refs missed a bad one when Boston tripped up a TB player.

Martie St Louis is now tied with Ryan Kesler for overall points, after his goal in the 1rst.

TB will start the 3rd with 1:06 left in a penalty to Ferrence for busting a Bolts chops. They have scored twice on their PPs so far.

Vancouver fans can breath a bit easier as this one is going back to Boston for the 7th and the Canucks can get a bit more R&R.

TB wins it 5 - 4. Mighty Mouse got three points in tonight's game with 2 goals and an assist which I believe puts him only one point behind Henrik right now. Krejci got a hat trick for Boston on their only PP goal of the night, they were 0 for 4 till that point.

Pretty exciting game though the 3rd was really pumped. Maybe Timmie should have had a rest like Roloson did as he was good but not great tonight and should have had at least one of those pucks. Ah well, they'll take it at home. ;-)

Whoever Vancouver plays I suspect it will be a long and close series. Boston has a way of changing the pace of the game, sometimes slowing it down to disciplined controlled level then turning it on. They also have the Dos Equis man in goal, and, well, the guy even bowls overhand. TB has some core elements of their previous cup win.

Do we know when game 1 is?

I'm not so sure that Vancouver can beat Boston, which is one of the reasons I've been hoping for Tampa.

The way Boston has been playing Tampa Bay this series, I wouldn't worry too much about them to be honest. They play well in streaks and then totally fall asleep! Thomas seems to let in an early goal every game!8O

According to Squire Barnes, Boston would be easier for the Canucks to beat, really only two star players, goalie and defenceman, but T.B. plays more the Canucks style and has a lot more firing power than Boston.

Tampa Bay's problem is that their goaltending is weak right now. Will that carry over to the next round(if they make it)? Roloson let in 4 goals on 20 shots, so he has not played well for a few games now.

Problem is, do we really want to see much more of Guy Boucher? Guy's degree of self-importance is a little too nauseating for my liking.
