I did, Too many stupid penalties and too much thuggery by San Jose, Canucks should have finished them off in the third for sure. Luongo was just a little too soft, especially at the start.

yeah, he made some great saves, but again looked bad on stuff right around him.
their goalie looked great until the third period, then he let stuff in too.

edler looked really bad at the blue line, that is a bit of a habit he has, from
time to time, taking too long to make a decision, then panics, and loses it,
passed it right into the guys legs, causing a breakaway.

and who was suppose to be checking marleau when he got the puck 'all' by himself, standing right in front of luongo for a quick shot in the goal.

it is a game of mistakes, always is.

Seemed like a lot of hesitation in their play.

I'm a little worried about Luongo. It is rare that team carries their goaltender all the way to a cup.

It was a game that wasn't really interesting on either side. The sharks came out good and were bolstered by a couple of early PPs but still didn't look like they could keep up with the Canucks for 60 minutes. I will admit that Thorton played well but 1 guy is not going to beat us on most nights.

The officiating was absolutely horrendous. When they gave that first penalty to Lapierre I turned to my wife and said 'I can see where this is going' and I was right. Vancouver only deserved about 5 of the penalties they got and the Sharks should have been called for about 4 more than they were although the holding call on Thorton to give the 5 on 3 was pretty cheesy. There was just no consistency in it at all. Bieksa got 2 hooking calls for waving his stick at someone while I saw at least 3 good slashes from the Sharks. Burrows took a hard crosscheck that prevented him from scoring and it was let go and yet Rome pushes a guy and gets 2 minutes. I hope the refs get a good thrashing from Colin Campbell and sat down for the rest of the playoffs. The league just can't allow games to go like that this deep in the playoffs and keep any credibility.

I am not sure if whatever his name is from SJ will get a suspension or not. He already got a warning in the LA series so maybe its time for him to watch a couple from the press box.

As for Luongo, he has not looked like he did in the regular season since game 3 of round 1. He seems to be struggling to hold the puck and control rebounds. I have to wonder if he's hurt or just having a mental problem. He really needs to come out with a stellar performance and either steal a game for us or get a shutout where he makes a number of miraculous saves to get his confidence back.

I am almost glad Erhoff might be out in game 4. He has looked bad most of the playoffs, Marleau was his man on that 1st goal, and he seems to be having trouble handling the puck. He has had a number of give-aways and missed clears and might need to sit even if he isn't hurt.

Will be an interesting first 10 minutes on Sunday, if Vancouver can play well and get an early one , or two, it will be the end of San Jose for this year. As long as we can play them even for the 1st period and build on that we should start to demoralize them and go from there.

yeah, its so hard to follow the referring, no consistency on calls, no one knows what is going to
be called or not, 10 penalties, thats ridiculous, and they were calling one right at the end of
the game, I assume that was on canucks too.

yep luongo lately has lost his focus, hope it doesn't last too long, they need him to play better,
but he did make some key stops, one was a breakaway to keep them from running away with the score.

looks like erhoff and rome will be out next game, guess alberts and ballard will get to play.

I don't like that sunday time, i'd rather do other things during the day, and watch later, but
i'll be there, like always.

vineault was tight lipped, but obviously irritated in post game interview, mentioned the number of
penalties, but said no more and said he wanted to keep his money in his pocket.

I think Boston's going to win the cup, because based on that game, there's no way Vancouver can beat the Bruins.

Yeah, but that is based on THAT game. What if it was based on game 2?
Or what if it was based on Boston's game where T.B. trounced them?

The announcers were saying something about the league looking at a slash Keler supposedly made behind the net just as the 3rd ended. They showed it on Hockey2Night but it didn't look like a penalty to me or the hosts. The officiating stank to high heaven last night - so infuriating this late in the play-offs that they still can't get the calls right.

He has that 'deer in the headlights' look again and it really worries me. He did make some really good stops but the team needs him to get his act together consistently.

We all knew that the possibility was there to have players injured and the Sharks made sure it happened.

The Boston game starts at 10:30 today and I will have to miss that one as I will be in town. At least I will be home for the Canucks game tomorrow but agree it would be better if it were telecast later.

AV looked like he had a lot to say but was biting his tongue and keeping his cool. His reply about Erhoff and Rome sounded as though he was choking on his words. Good on him for keeping his cool.

There must have been a lot of Canuck fans in the stands last night, I could hear them singing along with the Canadian anthem. Go Canucks fans! LOL!

Well we will see how they do against TB today, TP. Hope you will be watching and cheering as I have to go to town - darn it!

Funniest post all week-Congratulations.

A couple dozen people from Saskabushewan weekly and how many from North Dakota?

North Dakota FFS!!!!

Gosh, Bill, you must know the same people I do in Sask. I have a group of friends who are already planning on buying season tickets and really looking forward to having another NHL team so close to home.

Maybe it will be the same group from ND that come up for all the Rider games. LOL!

Hey time will tell, but I do believe that getting a team in Winnipeg will be a great money maker for the province and the city.

Numbers tell the tale-few will bother with long dangerous drives in winter after 5 straight years of losing-some doofuss was crowing on another board about all the folks heading from Thunder Bay-more idiocy.

well, if we decided that anyone was going to win the cup because of how they did play or didn't
play, we could say that about the losing team or winning team after every game, it doesn't always
stay the same, tampa might win today, canucks might win tomorrow, or visa versa, there is no way
to know that, just guessing is all it is, or hoping.

concerning the manitoba moose, I realize now that canucks will lose that team, as they will
become the winnipeg farm team, as the thompson group own them, but of course canucks will take
their own players and move somewhere else I suppose, or share the moose with winnipeg, as they
have done that before with their farm team, own a team 1/2 and 1/2.

there was lots of canuck fans in the stands last night, they were talking about it
on the radio prior to the game starting.

Yeah, but that is based on THAT game. What if it was based on game 2?

my exact thoughts

yes, 5 on 5 we played well, but can't win a game when shorthanded that much, and luongo has to play
better, hopefully he will tomorrow, that is two games in a row he has looked shaky, so if he does
same tomorrow, I wonder if they will make a change, I doubt it, unless the score gets out of hand.

but each time I criticize him, I also realize that canucks would not be in this playoff at all
if it wasn't for him saving that shot off of sharp in the overtime against chicago, they would
all be golfing, and everyone would hate them, so he saved them from the hanging tree.

Yeah, and I think it could be pretty demoralizing for Luongo to see his team short handed 10 times in a game (he was probably even thinking the referees were against him) . I think Luo is about as good as they get, including Auntie.

Yep, as a goalie, getting bombarded 10 times in a game, by a team who's power play
has been working just fine, is tough, and on the one penalty, kesler and burrows
were both in the box, the two best penalty killers.

Lets face it, Luongo's a sieve. Yes he occasionally stops a few solid scoring opportunities, but so does the backup goalie for the Manitoba Moose. Anyone would've had a good year playing behind that defense. The majority of his saves were perimeter shots that hit him in the bread basket.

So much a sieve he had the second lowest GAA and was 3rd in Save PCT and led the league in wins and is a nominee for the Vezina. Yeah we better trade that loser tomorrow.

I doubt if a city with close to a million people has to concern themselves with getting fans out of province or country!

I doubt they would too, JLM, concern themselves that is. LOL! But I do think that there will be fans from other provinces traveling to the games. Fans will go to great lengths to follow a team - even in the midst of a howling blizzard in Sask. LOL!

Yeah, but Niemi rocks in his own right or we wouldn't be sitting where we are right now.

Shoot, just got home to watch the last 4 minutes of the Boston game - should been here - they went down to TB who iced it with an empty net goal.

I don't think the Canucks can beat Boston, although I hope they do.

Well Boston better win the next couple of games or it will be a moot point, TP, especially after their loss today. Will have to watch Hockey 2Night to see what happened to them.

Not according to his save percentages.

Kind of looks like it could be Canucks vs. Tampa Bay for the finals.

Which of the 26 teams that are already on the golf course are you a fan of???

On another note, McGuinn is not getting any supplemental discipline from the league for his hit on Rome. That's 2 blatant hits from behind that have been let go by Colin Campbell now. I guess the safety of the players doesn't matter when it's a Vancouver player. I hope the Canucks return the favor if they get down by a few in one of the next games. See how the Sharks like it if Boyle is carried off the ice. Now I will say that the hit on Rome, while having more effect, was not as dirty as the one on Daniel so I guess they can argue intent on Mcguinn's behalf but I still can't believe Eager didn't get a game or 2.

700,000 people in/around Winnipeg that's including 10 local native reserves, Atlanta's metropolitan area is over 5 million.

Of course many Atlanta residents aren't natural hockey fans but neither are the 50,000 Filipinos in Winnipeg.

What's his save percentage on shots originating from behind the net? How did he do with shoot outs?
