You do realize that Canada suffered terrorist attacks which killed quite a few Canadians, called the Air India attacks, I hope.
You also might consider the FLQ.

In other words, terrorists have threatened (and killed) Canadians.

The FLQ were foreigners? Are you with the bloc quebecois?

Hmmm, a letter saying the Taliban will kill Canadian military that are in Afghanistan is not quite a terrorist threat against the country now is it? More like a declaration of intent to protect their sovereignty. But keep trying.

Why don't you answer to some of the other example shows... that's right, you were not born then therefore they didn't occur, right?

I think it is supposed to mean an attack based on some specific foreign policy that is against some Nation (or group). A Canadian killed on foreign soil is not a directed attack against Canada.

"Never has any terrorist organization or foreign nation made threats against Canada or Canadians. " - Nick

Move them goal posts!

You do realize it was sent AFTER the Taliban had killed two Canadian Aid Workers right?

Here... from the article...

The threat, issued in an "open letter" addressed to "the Canadian people," comes just days after two Canadians, Shirley Case and Jacqueline Kirk of the New York-based International Rescue Committee, were shot to death along with an American woman and their Afghan driver in a Taliban ambush Wednesday in Logar province.

Is the International Rescue Committee part of the Canadian Military?

First you might want to think before you start tossing age around, if I entered the Canadian Forces in 1981 I have been around for a while

Air India, awaiting your answer
Air India was not terrorism directed at Canada but regarding a fight within India and Pakistan, unfortunately it killed many Canadian citizens and of course the flight originated in Montreal but it was not an attack on Canada.

That's all right, I just wasn't sure if we were referring to the same thing.

The NHL. I was wrong.

Hey I am all for expanding to 32 teams. Wishful thinking? I am getting a kick out of seeing a sold out NHL game in Nashville Tennessee. Now THAT place is country. I do hope more and more catch a liking to the sport in those areas.

Could you imagine a University of Tennessee Volunteers hockey team?

You have a skewed view of history.

the ratio will change soon, Phoenix is going back to Winnipeg, Columbus can't fill half their arena on a good night, same goes for the Panthers and Carolina is in steady decline since their cup win.

Could you imagine a University of Tennessee Volunteers hockey team?
LOL!!!

Yep, more teams make it more interesting and the Stanley Cup a little more elusive. Whether there is enough talent to spread among 32 teams I'm not sure. I think however Canada should have 3 or 4 more teams, Winnipeg for sure, possibly Regina, one more in Ontario and Halifax or Quebec City.

Oh????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Hate to say it, JLM, but it ain't gonna work.

While there are thousands of PAYING customers to a High School Game in the States, Winnipeg and Quebec City proved that Canadians prefer hockey on their couch.

You know, cheaper and more comfortable that way.

Yeah because all the press and all those claims of responsibility claimed it was an attack against Canadian sovereignty and foreign policy...NOT!

Do you mean paying to get into high school football games in Texas, which has a bigger fan base than hockey in the entire USA. More american teams is a pipe dream of Gary Bettman and is proving to be a big mistake. He thought he could make the NHL the next NBA, he should have stayed with basketball.

And bringing back a team to Winnipeg is a good move?

The way it is now, I think you're right. However if all salaries were divided by 4 and the price of admission divided by 4, then it might work.

No, my child, I meant that Canadians - as proven by those in Winnipeg and Quebec City - are just TOO CHEAP to spend money, when they can watch it on TV.

Also meant that with the exception of brain dead Maple Leaf fans, Canadians demand a winner. Proven by the cheapskate Blue Jay fans.
