Sure you did. Everyone knows that if you got some Cannabis you wouldn't be on here wasting it bitching about stupid junk. You would be cool and watching youtube reruns of food network shows. It's a fact, look it up.

After all, when those who make & enforce the laws every single day are saying the laws against something are Crap & Unconstitutional, why do those in our government think they know better and try to tell them otherwise?

They do it to pander to the conservative, right wing vote!

So why didn't the Liberals just change the legislation full out when they were in power?

Who were they pandering to?

Same answer, the conservative right wing.

"See, we aren't so bad, we won't legalize pot, you can trust us and even vote for us."

And besides that, when was the last time the Libs were really left wing?

When they were in office, championing gay rights.

Every thing is to blame on the Conservatives eh, even when the Liberals don't hold all the cards?

If that were true, they wouldn't have legislated SSM, and expanded gay rights.

I think if the Liberals were looking to gain something from the middle of the road conservatives, they would have gone for pot, not gay rights.

I was actually trying to point out that all parties will try to pander to all demographics in order to get votes. They are all *****s when it comes to the ballot box.
I was not trying to place blame anywhere. If I wanted to do that I would look south, I can't remember the exact quote but W made it quite clear that the decriminalization of pot would make a huge differeence in Canda-US relations. I think there was enough support for it last time it came up in parliament if it weren't for W.

While trying to pin the blame on a single section of the electorate.

I was not trying to place blame anywhere.
Yes you were, you blamed the conservative right wing. Twice.

They made the same grumblings when we opted out of Iraq part 1. Nothing happened. They said the same thing when we won in the softwood case. That's what politicians do when they aren't getting what they want from someone. What they can or are willing to do, is a totally different matter.

I think there was enough support for it last time it came up in parliament if it weren't for W.
Or maybe the Liberals just don't dig pot, like the Conservatives, don't dig pot.

I mean if you want to blame GWB for the Liberals not passing legislation legalizing pot, then why did they pass more "morally repugnant" legislation giving gays the right to marry?

I don't see groups like the West Borough Baptist asshats, or the Evangelists (Which was to my knowledge, Bush's most prolific religious voter base) going ape sh!t over medical mary jane. Like they do over "fags".

Ok, maybe I did try to make out like it was all down to the right wing.

I don't 'dig' it, but I don't care if others want to smoke. We miss a huge opportunity to save police dollars and increase tax revenues by keeping it illegal so I would prefer it to be legalized.

Are you saying letting two guys marry if that's how they want to live is 'moraly repugnant' to you?

There are better terms than this to use.

It's to late to tax, which is why, IMHO, you won't see it legalized.

The quotations, would denote someone elses opinion.

I was using the West Borough Baptist asshats and Evangelists, it's their favourite word to use when discussing homosexuals.

To me, its about harm reduction, adults making their own decisions about their own body and what goes in it, and taxes. Legalizing pot does all of this. So who is against it?

1. people want to buy weaker grades of THC in pot, but its tough, and they ought to be able to easily buy brands or organic
2. govt regulated pot makes production safe and no electricity is stolen from the grid like it is now
3. there are billions to be made here, don't we have budget deficits to worry about? Here's an answer

I am against legalizing marijuana if its not done properly. I would have to see the proposed law first and then decide. I would not support legalizing marijuana if the end result would be large corporations trying to increase consumption to increase profit. Once we start on that path, we can't turn back. The objective of decriminalizing marijuana should be least harm to society and the individual. If legalization isn't done properly, it could be more harmful than the current situation.

I'd support allowing people to grow a small amount for personal consumption. (less than 10 plants)
I'd support allowing small regulated cafes growing and selling it in municipally zoned green areas.
I'd support limits to possession for personal use (less than 20 grams on your person)

Limit and control violations would result in exponentially graduated fines and possibly jail time. The more you exceed the limits the greater the punishment, like speeding.

Treat wacky tobaccy like cigarettes and alcohol, regulate them to limit their consumption. The healthy lifestyle these days means no smoking and alcohol in moderation. You know, being sensible.

Kids dig pot because its illegal, a thrill, would they think its so fun if their grey haird grandma smoked it too? I doubt it.

Yeah that's right. And you should see them go ga ga for murder! Thrills being what they are and all. Plenty of Grandmas enjoy Cannabis.
