I think we are having a good debate of our own, I am nervous about giving anyone a majority
and I think they all scored some points tonight.

DGJLM it all depends on the kind of NDP he turns out to be. Saskatchewan New Democrats
produced sixteen balanced budgets in a row, before the Sask Party came to power.
I believe we have to be socially progressive and fiscally conservative. The problem is the
current Tory Government has made a worse mess than almost any other government in the
history of Canada. Huge deficits and they will continue for another two to four years.
Yep, Layton would make a good Prime Minister until someone else's money runs out.
Harper may have scored once with the long gun registry but he then backed that up with increased gun control..HUH?
Are you sure you're watching the right program????
He looks well prepared because he factual. He's calm and cool because he has nothing to hide contrary to the what the childish leaders of the other parties say.He looks well prepared to give his spin on the issues without answering direct questions. He has already put his foot in has mouth a couple of times regarding some of his policies like temporary foreign workers and corporate tax cuts.
He's a rookie. And twice mentioned stricter gun control which is obviously illogical, wasteful and pointless. Did you see how he snapped at Layton "at least we've been there! (formed the government)"? What an arrogant S.O.B.!Iggy does look unprepared and even unfamiliar with his platform, quite different from the rest of his campaign so far. I think Gilles may just have trouble with english.
Is this really the time to change our entire voting system? Also, the only reason why Layton wants proportional representation is because he wants more power for him and his party! Hello! What is your problem with a true democratic representation of the people in parliament?
Maybe you should give him a 5 year trial period and see. We know what Harpo can f*ck up in 7 years and we know what the Libs can f*ck up in 12 years.
Layton just scored a bunch of points (in my book) on health care - prevention, healthier eating, reducing salt, sugar etc. Now if he would just get it out of the public sector I might even vote for him.
And twice mentioned stricter gun control which is obviously illogical, wasteful and pointless.
Mr. Harper was clear, concise, factual, and respectful. Give that man a majority.
Didn't Harper mention that we need effective gun control, is that also illogical, wasteful, and pointless?

I am not afraid to admit I wrote Harper off long before this election was called and long before the whole contempt issue arose. I think his fiscal and economic policy is fundementally flawed and he gives too much support to big businees and international corporations.Yes. With an open mind unlike the left.
I would not give him being factual, his answers to the taxes (corp rates will drop from 16.5% to 15% this year) and his supposed tough on crime (except within his office and party) and his responses on the economy (though he may be getting flawed information to rely on). I don't trust him one bit.He looks well prepared because he factual. He's calm and cool because he has nothing to hide contrary to the what the childish leaders of the other parties say.
Like I said, he fell on his face tonight which was surprising because he has been quite good on the trail. He's a rookie. And twice mentioned stricter gun control which is obviously illogical, wasteful and pointless. Did you see how he snapped at Layton "at least we've been there! (formed the government)"? What an arrogant S.O.B.!
I want it because it gives better representation to everyone. And when do you fix something that is broken? Is this really the time to change our entire voting system? Also, the only reason why Layton wants proportional representation is because he wants more power for him and his party! Hello!
Not even if he walked up and handed me $1 million bucks in cash!!!Mr. Harper was clear, concise, factual, and respectful. Give that man a majority.
Well, he's obviously got you fooled, if you trust anything he said. Compare what he said last time out, with what he did when in power. Ethics in government? Yeah, right. If you buy that stuff, you deserve what you get.
I think we are having a good debate of our own, I am nervous about giving anyone a majority

Would there ever be a Conservative candidate that you did approve of? Of course not. You love the fog you live in like the rest of the far left.
Aren't we ever, DG. This is great - Canadians take part in their political futures - way cool.
I have to say, that after the debate tonight, I am even more convinced we need a majority just to lessen the amount of acrimony that would result in another minority.
And we KNOW that the NDP would screw up in one month. LOL! Then maybe I give them too much credit.
After seeing how Harper was kept in check from his real agenda during this last term I could go for minority govts all the time. It truly makes them work more for the benefit of all Canadians and less for their base supporters.
I am not afraid to admit I wrote Harper off long before this election was called and long before the whole contempt issue arose. I think his fiscal and economic policy is fundementally flawed and he gives too much support to big businees and international corporations.
See how the other leaders kept doing that? A little dig here and there when then could? That's called a cheap shot and that's what little children who have no business running the country do. It's a cheap shot because it's "thrown in" as a side comment, midstream while answering the main topic. Cheap shot.(except within his office and party)
Of course you don't because he stands for everything you don't believe in. You have a relative philosophy. Right is wrong, blue is black, a jar of piss is "art". Mr. Harper has the intelligence and has the self respect to never adhere to such nonsense.I don't trust him one bit.
What did you expect? Him to speak like the "messiah" Obama? "This is the moment that our oceans stopped rising and our planet began to heal!"Like I said, he fell on his face tonight which was surprising because he has been quite good on the trail.
We don't need the greens and the commies getting representation unless the people mandate it. As it ever occurred to you that their platform, ideologies, and experience, aren't very strong and that's why the people aren't attracted to them?I want it because it gives better representation to everyone. And when do you fix something that is broken?
See?! So committed to the living in fog not even a cool hard million wouldn't budge you!Not even if he walked up and handed me $1 million bucks in cash!!!
