You still haven't given me, a westerner, a good reason to keep them. They can take the atlantic provinces too.

I know they would never get the votes to actually separate un;ess they let the rest of us vote, but I can always hold hope.

Ah, you have never been with a French woman. After you have had a french lover, all others make you feel like a necrophiliac.

Rubbish. Let them separate Then the first nation can separate from them.Leaving them with approximately enough land to plant the odd potato. I Like IT!!

Not all of us like women with thicker mustaches than we have. LOL

They would have to form a committee first and then apply for a government grant before they could even plow the garden.

Wondering why Bloc Quebecios is a national party when it represents only one province

Ya. they're not really of course. We just let them say that just the same way we let them speak french and give them more money per capita than the other provinces. It's kind of expensive but it's kept us in the top ten least stupid countries list at least.

How much different was the reform Party from the Bloq? They were a western regional party dedicated to bringing the wests concerns to Ottawa. They hijacked the PC party and now they run the government under Harper. I really don't see much difference.

Good point there Cliff.

They are already seperate just like all the other provinces are seperate.

They are a "nation" according to some. Try as I might, I can't seem to find anybody that can give me a clear definition as to what that means.

Aside from what Colpy said, the Reform Party was also not interested in breaking up the country.

Because, whether we like it or not, they are still Canadians and Quebecois have a right to be represented by who they want.

There are rules in any democracy and smaller parties get screwed by Elections Canada-whoforced the Rhino party out of existence. Sure Quebecers can vote for whoever they want, but there ought to be rules for federal parties. I think a federal party ought to be forced have candidates running in at least seven provinces with half of the country's population. This is constitutional formula for amending the constitution. This would stretch the BQ's resources and dilute their message.

We are a federal state, not a unitary state. A unitary state has no provinces so every party in France, Japan, Poland or Sweden is a national party because they do not have another level of government in provinces that handle important matters like health and justice.

And yeah, we have cowards for politicians too.

My understanding is that we are a confederation not a federation.
