A few points here to take not of UnionJack says the NDP lost credibility when they teamed up
with the unions. Well two points here the unions gravitated to the NDP like the Tories did to
the Chamber of Commerce and the Fraser Institute. It should be remembered when the unions
and the CCF now the NDP teamed up, they were different entities then. The unions actually
cared about the working guy, now they care about themselves. The NDP was about social
justice for working people, small business and the farm community.
This is where Colpy states they abandoned their rural roots and that is true to a large extent.
Carol still has a large following, the problem is the caucus of the NDP is trying to run the show,
and that flies in the face of the Parties Provincial Council. I am remembering this stuff from my
old days as a media person in news, and I find when the caucus tries to run the party all hell
breaks loose.
I think Harry Lali will run for the leadership, as will Adrian Dix, and Mike Farnworth, there may be
a few others but those three would be leaders in my book. It is very hard to have been the leader
and try to come back in a leadership race. The reason Carol had that kind of approval rating is
there was no leadership race and the NDP does one thing better than most, when there is some
kind of distraction they opt for solidarity. When the distraction becomes a division, there is an all
out scrap for the leadership. Any bet the support for Carol comes from riding's with a heavy
women's support group?
The fight is on and Carol like Gordon are names from the past already the world of politics has
now moved on that the train has left for these two.
