A lot of people believe the re-emergence of the GOP in the House is a sign of Obama's failure. I'm not sure that's entirely true. Seems to me more of a Pelosi failure. She never rallied her troops, took no leadership when others were calling for Bush's impeachment, failed to stand up for Obama's HCR efforts, and never countered the barrage of propaganda from the far right in re to the deficit and recession inherited from Bush which is being falsely attributed to Obama.

Obama made a critical error - He believed that the US Voter gave him a ringing endorsement to enact radical change - many Independents voted for Obama same as many moderate repubs because they were fed up to th hilt with Bush/Cheney. He was riding on his own speeches which as I have stated for quite some time were all feel good. The US Voter was looking for the beef after he was elected.

Next one was Obama Care - Set that aside and get the economy going - A recall an election phrase from 92, I believe it was from the Clinton campaign - Its the economy Stupid. Obama dropped that ball.

Just to name 2 critical and strategic errors -

Blaming the Wicked With of San Francisco does not cut it - She was not president.

Very good Goober. I have to agree.

He should have followed what FDR did, along with Regan - Massive infrastructure not subject to without Earmarks - Any Earmarks all Obama had to say would be he would veto any funds for pet projects - next Regan - Regan does not get the credit he deserves for instilling CONFIDENCE again within the average US Citizen - That was a key factor to his success.

''Did you take my advice?''

Take mine and think, if you can.

''Next one was Obama Care''

That was Priority One in the Dem party platform. He was supposed to create it but watered it down so much that he lost indy and lib voters as a consequence.

''No more free money for garbage.''

You will recall that I was the first person on this forum to say NO to Obama's stimulus package just as I did with Bush three packages. At least I have been consistent in this regard.

''War/weapons is the last profitable homegrown industry in the US. Porn comes a close second.''

Both Republican industries.

Obama must learn (maybe he has now), that he works for the people, not the people for him. Pelosi and Reid had their day in the Sun. After the first 6 months of so in office, Obama took over when he said to reporters and staff "let me make this perfectly clear". I do not think the Republicans will try to dump Obama care.

A little History lesson on US History from a Canadian.

US President 1861 James Buchanan - Democrat - His leadership and I use that loosely as hell directly led to the Civil War - Lincoln - Republican won it

1933 to 1945 - led and prepared the US for War with Germany - Democrat - FDR - Great man

Timeline for US involvement in Vietnam

http://www.landscaper.net/timelin.htm

10 Aug 50 - First shipload of U.S. arms aid to pro-French Vietnam arrives
1951 - U.S. military aid amounted to more than $500 million by 1951
7 May 54 - Viet Minh overrun French fortress at Dien Bien Phu
8 Sep 54 - Eight nations sign U.S.-sponsored SEATO treaty
12 Feb 55 - President Eisenhower's administration sends the first U.S. advisers to South Vietnam to train the South Vietnamese Army
5 Sep 56 - President Eisenhower tells a news conference that the French are "involved in a hopelessly losing war in Indochina"
8 July 59 - Two Americans are killed and one wounded during a Viet Minh attack 20 miles north of Saigon

13 May 61 - President Kennedy orders 100 "special forces" troops to S. Vietnam

Carried on by Johnson - Democrat

Ended by Nixon - Republican.

Tsk Tsk Tsk - Such a shame that people do not know their own countries history then blame one thing like all wars on one party - Such a shame.
Now sit Ubu Sit. Good Democrat

Like most countries, the US is better off with a balance of power. All Dems or all Reps isn't good.

Like most countries, the US is better off with a balance of power. All Dems or all Reps isn't good.

Compared to Canada the PM has more power on a direct basis to do as he/she literally sees fit. That is a problem with Elected back Bench Lemmings in all Parties - i prefer the British Parliament where back bencher's defect shall we say from the party line on a regular basis.

While we have a parliamentary system where you would almost think that is was a rigid Catholic School - The Priest runs the show and you better not get his attention for strawing from the Gospel.

Enough to turn a dog away from a gut wagon - the stench of hypocrisy and lack of character is disgusting - Excepting that Cabinet Minister who resigned over that Quebec thing a few years ago - stood his ground - resigned - and lo and behold gained massive respect - whether you agreed with him or not he did the right thing - a rarity in our sycophantic, control freaks running all parties and Parliament.

Good - i have had my spiel and rant - Now i will proceed to my evening ritual of having a nice home made cold beer.

In my opinion, the government of Canada has never run better than this present conservative minority. No one holds too much power. Common sense has to be applied.

Really - Every time Harper throws down the Guantlet - Confidence vote the Liberals cave, bend and twist.

Having a minority that has a weak opposition is useless - It is a bredding ground for division and creating wedge issues - And the Libs polling show why -

2 weak leaders after Mr. Dithers or AKA I can throw another 5 or 10 billion at that problem Martin makes 3 -

Spending on stuff that is not needed. And yes, waste in the military. Not pulling the ammo out of the troops weapons, but not paying 100 dollars for a toilet seat at the barracks.

This whole country is getting fleeced by special interests and people with their hands out. My favorite sacrificial lamb to start the ball rolling would be the National Endowment for the Arts. Bye! Gone! Adios!

No more free money for garbage.

Do you know we still produce helium for our fleet of blimps! Yup...we've been doing it since WWI. Stock piling helium.

Do you know we stock pile wool for soldiers uniforms! Yes... wool uniforms. We subsidize farmers and stock wool.

Enough.

They won't though. They won't cut any of this BS. Then they will get voted out... and so on... and so on... and so on...

EDIT... We pay farmers to allow their cattle to feed on government owned lands. Yes. We pay them.

On your last point, EagleSmack, I thought I read somewhere that you also pay people who have houses built on what through some loophole has been designated as farmland and they get paid even though they do not actually farm and are not nor have they ever been, farmers.

Look again, Ike was Republican.

''

Buchanan did not want a war and did nothing to start it.

Barney Franks was re-elected.
Harry Reid was re-elected.
That fossil from Michigan whose father was elected in 1935, Dingbat was re-elected.

Talking about electing WACKOES!!!

Thankfully, the most disgusting piece of waste material, Alan Grayson of Florida was given the boot.

P.S.

The empty-headed kewpie doll, Barbara the Boxer was re-elected.
The previous Governor who started California on the road to ruin, Jerry Brown was re-elected.

No doubt, this article will not be read by wise liberals who claim that Americans are "WACKO" for repudiating the man, himself and his policies: Barack Hussain Obama, because this article was written by Ann Coulter who is the second most favourite Republican female target of objective, tolerant and loving liberals/progressives.

But try and weigh the merit of the article before summarily dismissing it. And then propose your counter argumants.
