well lulay had a good game, made a couple of mistakes toward the end of the game, but if his
receivers had of caught the throws earlier on, it wouldn't have made such a difference.

toronto didn't have much of a game at all, except toward the end.

I thought Travis did a great job, tallola and he should definitely having the starting position for the next game. The two interceptions were just blips and all QBs have them. He led the team far better than Printers, IMHO. The drop by Arsenaux near the end zone was so surprising I had to keep watching the replays to make sure he wasn't interefered with at all. Again, penalties were a factor in the game for BC, they have to learn to play a more disciplined game.

The Argos took way too long to catch fire and had they been up against a better disciplined team, the outcome would not have been in their favor.

As is somewhat customary in the CFL, all the excitement happened in the last quarter and it could have gone either way. Too bad time ran out on the clock for BC as that pass from Lulay was good - though I didn't see who caught it.

Edmonton will take on the Bombers this afternoon at 3:30 PST.

yes, I have been noticing this young quarterback, lulay for awhile now, and time is moving forward
and he needs his own team, and I agree with you, he is a confident player, thinks fast, sees the
field very well, and doesn't have all of those tentative plays, like printers, which make him too
late. Printers wanted to play this game, seems kind of selfish to me, he isn't healthy, and it
was that way last game too, he couldn't move when he got the ball, had to make his plays from a
standing position, and that is goofy, I think buono should have played lulay last game too.
I guess printers played up his own ability to play too much, and buono believed him.

lions didn't look very good last night 'again', defense was fine, offense looked very bad at times,
and lulay didn't play as well as he did last game, but edmontons quarter back most times was given
much more time to make his plays than lulay was, edmonton's o line protected him much better than
lion's o line protected lulay. Many times he was running for his life with players chasing him,
and on that last interception, he was tackled by 3 or 4 edmonton players, 'where' was his protection,
poor guy didn't have a chance.

I hope next year they replace Chapdelaine (and even Dorasio).

lions looked sub par again last night, and lulay did not look good either, made some bad decisions,
totally forgot to see geroy in the end zone for a sure touchdown, and threw an interception, but he also
has to hurry so much because of poor protection, that I think he is hearing footsteps all the time, and is beginning to hurry even when he doesn't need to.

jarious jackson didn't look any better, in fact, worse, came out like a tiger, but soon faded away,
very rusty, bad passes, and an interception.

don't know what they will do next

where has our pro football reporter gone, I miss those great write-ups.

I think they need to start Jackson. He was throwing them up hoping for a miracle, which is what they needed. I don't understand why Buono gave up on him (even when he wasn't hurt). A few years back he led the team in a long winning streak, then lost a game and Buono tossed him aside for a yet-again-recovered-from-injury Pierce. The running game has always been much better with him. His Notre Dame experience adds a new element to their running game. No one can run the option like him. I don't understand why Chapdelaine didn't focus on that years ago, when it was successful but under used. And even with a less than 100% arm he has a better one then the others.

Nevertheless, at 1-5 they're pretty screwed. The east might do the crossover for 3rd this year.

I wasn't impressed with jackson last year, lots of mistakes. Anyway lulay had his chance, he didn't
play bad, except for today, but he didn't become a new star either, it is going to take time for him
to break in as a starter, and buono stated that in a recent interview, he didn't expect him to save
the day for the team, he said a rookie quarter back just can't do that in the CFL.

I'm sure they will start jackson on thursday, as they should, if he stinks the place out, they can
put lulay back in, nothing else they can do right now, apparantly printers is getting stronger every
day, so I guess he will be back soon, but I really didn't like what he was doing either, 'who's number
four. lol

I hope Buono gets rid of Chapdelaine. The guy is the only offensive coordinator in history that can't put together a plan to gain a yard on third down, let alone create a well oiled scoring machine.

This is going to be an interesting game, tallola. I don`t know what to expect of either team as they have both been unpredictable. We may have more wins on the board then the Lions but some were by the skin of our teeth. The Lions are really against a wall and truly need this game so they are going to be tough. Jarius has the ability to take off and run like our Darian so he won`t be as easy to get to as Lulay proved to be in his last game. Your defense can be really tough when they are executing the correct plays and I expect they will be a constant threat. Our offense is pretty darn good if I do say so. We have outstanding receivers in Fantuz, Bagg, Dressler, Rodriquez, Clermont, and Getzlaf and Wes Cates has proven to be a pretty dandy receiver too.

I read that the Lions have cut Derik Armstrong in favor of Darius Passmore – maybe they are hoping the name will bring them luck. Just kidding. J It makes me wonder what is going to happen to Geroy and Paris – my two favorite Lion receivers. I can`t understand why both Printers and Lulay barely went to these guys – both have outstanding stats – so why leave them out of so many plays. I hope to see more of both in this game.

I really liked the way Haufnagel mixed up the Stamps defense in their game against BC. They took a page of the Rider’s defensive play-book and I am hoping that our guys watched the tape of that game and maybe got a few new ideas of their own. I really like that type of defense as it makes it hard for the opposing team to read exactly who is coming at them and from what angle. Hope to see more of that this afternoon.

The biggest factor in many games this season has been the needless penalties taken by a team. Yards lost to stupid errors can cost teams downs and in the end, TDs. In addition, it is demoralizing to the team. Time and again we have seen a receiver make a brilliant catch followed by a huge gain only to have the play nullified by one of his teammates being too eager or simply stupid. Both teams are guilty of taking too many and I really hope that the coaches have managed to convey to their guys how damaging penalties can be. Besides, a clean well-played game is a treat in itself.

One thing is absolutely certain; this is going to be an exciting game. It is also the Hall of Fame game and Sask’s own Don Narcisse is an inductee. The CFL website had these impressive stats on Don.

“Narcisse’s numbers suggest he was very good during his Roughriders career which ran from 1987 through 1999.
Ranks first in team history in career receptions (919, fifth best in CFL history), catches in a single season (123, third on the CFL list) and single-game receptions (15, tied for fourth on the CFL list), and is second in team history for career receiving yards (12, 366) and TDs (75).

Narcisse also owns league records for most consecutive seasons with a reception in every game (11) and most consecutive games with a catch (216). He had eight career 1,000 yard seasons, tying him for sixth in CFL history.”

Bon chance, tallola

yeah, I have no idea what to expect today, but of course, because of how the lions have played thus
far, my outlook isn't very positive, they have to post a win somewhere to turn that feeling around.

yes, if I was a quarterback, and made a great pass, only to have the play called back because of some
boneheaded play by someone, I would be tempted to have a hissy fit right there and then. lol
and those penalties are all so 'dumb', not like accidently tripping someone in a frenzy of bodies,
in a hockey game, but 'all by themselves' going offside, or whatever, so unnecessary.
that has to stop.

lions defense have been just fine, and yes, it's definitely the O line that is screwing up.
that pass that lulay missed 'seeing' last game, which should have gone to geroy, was a sure
touchdown, he was all by himself, right in the goaline area.

enjoy the game.

What happened to all the CFL commentary?

Cgy Stampeders 37
Sas Roughriders 43

Great match ended in OT. Qb Durant got 495 yards! Not a bad night's work.

I thought Sas was going for a late FG for the win but coach decided on a punt and that an end zone runout would have been stopped for a single pointer. No dice. But no problem as they won in OT.

Very exciting match.

very good football game, saw some great plays. I'm so use to watching the lions make so many
mistakes, although they havew improved, but this game was very classy.

good for the b.c. lions, they beat saskatewan today to keep their season alive, now if edmonton
can lose to saskatewan and lions defeat hamilton, all will be well for lions, and if not, at least
the fans saw them win at home, for their last league game at empire field this season.
If they play there again this season, it will be a playoff game.

Congratulations, talloola! I am so happy for you and your team. They have come along way since the season began and have steadily improved, most especially by starting Travis as your QB. Both offense and defense have cohesed over the last few games and they now present a more unified front on the field.

It was a great win for their last appearance on Empire Field. I have enjoyed watching the games from Vancouver. The stamping of the fan's feet took me back to the days when Taylor Field - now called Mosaic - had wooden bleachers and we fans pounded them as hard as we could.

As your team's fortunes rose, my team's fell and fell and fell. Every fan has their own take on what has happened to the Riders including, of course, myself.

I think that there is a lot of discontent swirling around the team right now. I don't know if it is with the coaching staff, the management, or each other but the players are not the same tight unit they were earlier in the season. They lack pep, drive, determination and the ability to go the extra mile. We have fabulous receivers yet game after game they are denied the ability to receive the ball by excellent coverage from the other team. Witness Browner shutting down Fantuz in our game with Calgary.

I was not expecting a win with BC not with the way we were playing. I know well how the Lions can roar when they are on a roll. I was looking to see if the team had improved at all. I did see some positive signs but have given up on Special Teams - it seems to be our Achilles heel. It would be nice if we could secure the ball better though.

I never give up on my Riders, having been through so many ups and downs over the years with the team. I know that they have come back in the past and have the talent to do so again. What remains to be seen is if they can do it before or during the play-offs.

GO, RIDERS, GO!

Well, with the help of Saskatchewan, BC is in the playoffs.

Lions beat Ti-Cats 23-21 and Riders over Esks 31-23.

BC plays in Saskatchewan in the West Semi, and Toronto in Hamilton for the East Semi.
