Well, with the help of Saskatchewan, BC is in the playoffs.

Lions beat Ti-Cats 23-21 and Riders over Esks 31-23.

BC plays in Saskatchewan in the West Semi, and Toronto in Hamilton for the East Semi.

OK, hockey game is over, very exciting day of sports for vancouver. the lions are in, didn't
think it was going to happen in the early part of the edmonton/sask game, then I didn't watch
till there was only about 2 minutes left. WOW, good for lions, they scratched their way back
from a terrible first half of the season, changed q backs, now lulay is coming into his own, I
have been waiting a long time for him to get his chance.
At least one more game, (one game at a time, as they say)

Being the youngest team in the league their future is looking pretty good.

I didn't see the BC game so wanted to watch the hilites on TSN. Instead, most of the supposed hilities were listening to that professional crow eater Otis Floyd. Will that idiot ever shut his trap? The moron can't stop from making himself into a foot in mouth fool.

The Riders appear to be coming back to life, Yes I am a huge Rider Fan, and here
in Kelowna there is even a watering hole for Rider Fans. I am hoping we beat old
Wally and the boys, don't like the Lions at all.

I'll make sure you leave the province with a jug of Rider windsheild washing fluid and a nice rock or fossil.

I don't expect BC to beat Saskatchewan but anything can happen in a one game knock out.

FANTUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZ!

It has been an interesting regular season in the CFL. Early in the year it was looking like the premier teams from last year just might be the ones to beat again this year. Then things started to get interesting and slowly but surely teams that had showed little promise began to improve, week by week. Teams that were sure bets started to falter and then fail. By the time last week rolled around, the Als knew they had not one but two threats from the East and the BC Lions and Edmonton Eskimos had shown they weren't ready to clean out their lockers just yet.

And now we are into the semi-finals so I thought I would share a few thoughts about the semi-finalists in each division.

I have been watching the Hamilton Ti-Cats for a few years now and am most impressed with what a tight football team they have become. Under Marcel’s leadership, players like Arland Bruce, Maurice Mann, Dave Stala, Marquay McDaniels, Kevin Glenn and so many more were given a chance to show what they had and they did so in spades. With the addition of Stevie Baggs to the defense and his contribution in the short time he has been with the team, the Ti-Cats are solid on both lines.

The Toronto Argonauts after a futile season with the Scorpion King aka Bart Andrus, came back game by game under the steady hand of coach Jim Barker. With players of the calibre of Chad Owen, Corey Boyd, Arland Bruce, Mike Bradwell and others, the Argos could be trouble for Hamilton.

I have a bit of a soft spot for the Argos simply because they are the only team in the CFL to have a Canadian QB, Danny Brannagan. He has been on the team and practices with them but hadn’t been called up until last week. With the game well in hand, Jim Barker gave Danny the last six minutes of the game to show his stuff. He helped set up a field goal for the last three points scored in the game. Yeah, Danny.

I believe that the Ti-Cats will prevail on Sunday but it could be a very tight score.

You can never, ever count Buono and the Lions out. The best thing they ever did was to get rid of Printers and give Lulay a chance. Lulay has not let them down and if the team can manage to get past the curse of the red zone, they are going to be a handful for my Riders.

Ah yes, my Riders. No wonder I have grey hair, supporting the Riders can be soooooo frustrating. After exploding out of the gate and showing Montreal the door in the first game of the season, the Riders began a slow but sure slide downhill. I got to the point where I told my sister Ginny that I would give them the last two games of the season to see if I thought they could be play-off contenders. The second last game showed some improvement but with their win against Edmonton last week, I am finally breathing a bit easier. The Riders are a funny team; they can be so hot one week and so cold the next. I am betting that the hot team shows up on Sunday.

I am calling for the Riders to take the day. GO GREEN AND WHITE!

I would like to see the lions win one more game, then call it a season, sound wierd?, I guess so, but
heres the deal for me.

They have had a very tumultuous season, as everyone knows, but now I can see the building of a real
nice team, a new team and a team with a very neat up n coming quarter-back.

If something happened this year which allowed them to go to the grey cup game and win it, then what,
it's too soon, what do they do after that. That would knock them off balance, in my opinion, SO,
lets win one more game, then see calgary and montreal go at it for the cup.

As long as Buono is coming back for another year, cause he has to be there for next year, then they
can go for it. I don't ever want him to retire, lions have a real gem of a coach.

What he has done with and for this team this season is nothing less than brilliant,
he stuck with the group thru terrible times, and didn't blink, he was the strength
of the team, kept them optimistic and hopeful when things looked hopeless, and
slowly but surely turned the team around and began the climb to respectability again.

The Lions gave the Riders a helluva good game. Congrats to to SK. Durant played a very good second half.

Lulay was very good today. I look forward to his future with BC, along with all the young talent that is coming together.

Congrats to the Argos for their win today.

In the East I thought the Argos would finally take the day, it was a sign of what was
happening toward the end of the season. Next game don't be too surprised to see
an upset, Montreal is either good or terrible somewhat like the Riders.
In the west Wally has about run his course. In my opinion he takes over teams that
were really built by someone else, and wins like hell, until the talent pool thins out.
After that the teams go down hill The Stampeders some years ago experienced the
Wally reverse magic. The Lions were a very good team today, the their QB was
excellent, I don't like the Lions but I have to give them credit, they put up a good fight
and that produced one of the best games of the year.
Next week, in Calgary, if Regina can hold together in the second quarter it will be very,
and I mean very close. As a Riders fan, I am hoping they pull it all together for one
last western event and make it to the Cup final, if they get there, they will win it.
It has been a good season.

I like the looks of the Argos for the future. They'll be a team to reckon with for awhile with that running game.

The Riders sure won that one the hard way. It was such an interesting and exciting game to watch I was a bit sorry anybody had to lose it, but as a Saskatchewan resident I'm glad it was BC. /=S=/ !! BC's quarterback was really impressive for one so young and inexperienced, we'll be hearing a lot more from that young man.

Lulay has been around the team for a few years and if I remember correctly he played in the old NFL Europe league. He was brought to BC by Bob O'Billovich who has been pitching for him ever since. OB picked that one right.

I'm happy for lulay, as I've been waiting for a long time for him to get this team for himself. We
saw glimpses of what he was capable of doing, but without the steady grind of every game, and the
learning experience, along with the mistakes, he couldn't advance, now he can, and has advanced big
time in the last few games.
He has a great personality and strong calmness about him, and keeps that calmness throughout intense
situations, and that must keep all of the players calm as well.

As I watched the first half unfold yesterday I could not help but contrast the poise of Travis Lulay with the jittery performance of our Darian Durant. It was Lulay in the first half who looked more like a seasoned pro. He had a few moments where the crowd was able to unsettle him but quickly recovered and that pass to Manny to tie the game was absolutely outstanding. I am so glad for the Lions that at long last they have solved their QB problem. Great game Lions.......one for the history books with the double overtime.

We may have won the game but problems still exist and the main one is getting Darian settled down before he steps on the field. I don't whether it was the spectre of Ryan Phillip's intercepting him or just out and out nerves but DD did not lead his team in the first half. Were it not for our defense continuing to put pressure on Lulay and the Lion's offense it would have been a very different story. It wasn't until Darian finally started to run himself that he was able to settle down and start connecting with his receivers. Word to coaches - design plays where Darian has to run early in the game and you may see him settle down sooner.

It was more than fitting that Jason Clermont scored the winning TD. Jason, since he came back to us from the Lion's has been one of the most underused receivers on our team yet one with great potential to score. Thank you Jason, well done and long overdue.

I was bitterly disappointed in Hamilton's game against T.O. They gave them the game by having so many turnovers. What happened to Stevie Baggs and the much vaunted Hamilton defense??? Congratulations to the Argos for the win and here's hoping you can pull it off again next week when you meet the Montreal Alouettes.

I'm looking forward to the Calgary and Saskatchewan game. Temperatures will be around -20C. Sounds like the conditions of the 1994 West Semi, when Flutie was so cold he ran to a heater between some plays.

Football the way it should be at this time of the year.

I agree. That is what the CFL is all about!

I think a grey cup between Montreal and Calgary would be worth watching. Toronto fell flat on their ass as was expected...
