Choosing Healthy Foods Now Called a Mental Disorder

Tuesday, 29 June 2010 08:33

'In its never-ending attempt to fabricate "mental disorders" out of every human activity, the psychiatric industry is now pushing the most ridiculous disease they've invented yet: Healthy eating disorder.
This is no joke: If you focus on eating healthy foods, you're "mentally diseased" and probably need some sort of chemical treatment involving powerful psychotropic drugs. The Guardian newspaper reports, "Fixation with healthy eating can be sign of serious psychological disorder" and goes on to claim this "disease" is called orthorexia nervosa -- which is basically just Latin for "nervous about correct eating".'

No doubt, it can get to be an obsession like anything else.

Have you heard of OCBED? Obsessive Compulsive Bean Eating Disorder.

Did you see that guy on the tube the other night who had to shower constantly? At first one would think there isn't anything wrong with staying clean but that guy was off the charts.

He must be very crinkled, and what about 'shrinkage'!!!!!!! lol lol

yes, it definitely can become an obsession, like anything else, but compared to many
others, not serious, just annoying to others.

Nietzsche claimed psychiatry was a tool for creating conformity. Foucault claimed it was an enhancement to the confinement system. Definitely it is a pseudo science that focuses on abnormal behavior as defined by the subjective desires of its proponents. My personal opinion is that, with some minor exceptions, it is pure quackery.

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual III (the psychiatric bible) due out in 2013 is likely to include prodromal disorders, an Internet Addiction disorder, and compulsive shopping disorder, to name a few. Every edition of this inquisitor's handbook, the modern Malleus Maleficarum if you will, doubles the number of disorders a person could be accused of. Naturally only the smallest handful of disorders have any empirical evidence to support them. Mostly it is a list of behaviors that make a person less conformed to the latest social standard. In otherwords the further from the mean you lie the more likely you are to get burnt.

So what do they call a person that eats at rotten ronnies every day and takes a hand full of pills, a boon to the economy?
Shrinks have and have caused far more mental problems and chemical dependencies than they have cured.
