McCain: Obama Spreading ‘False’ Rumors About Immigration Reform

May 18, 2010

Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) said last week that he is disappointed with the "false" information that President Obama is spreading about Arizona’s new immigration law.
While being interviewed by Fox News, McCain criticized a statement recently made by the president, and indicated that Obama is partially responsible for creating the cloud of negativity that is surrounding the state of Arizona, Politico.com reports.
"We all know what happens in Arizona when you don’t have ID," the president said earlier in the week. "Adios, amigos!"
McCain, who strongly supports the new law that grants authorities the right to question anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant, told the news source that Obama’s comments were "outrageous."
"That is totally falsifying the law passed in Arizona, which calls for reasonable suspicion… as to whether [someone is] in the country illegally, and it specifically outlaws racial profiling," McCain said.
"I know it’s outrageous for the President of the United States to portray a law passed in a state and falsifying exactly what that law says, especially when it has to do with a racial issue which obviously ignites things," he added.
The senator also said that the Los Angeles City Council, which recently passed sanctions to bar the city from conducting business with Arizona, should redirect their frustration toward the Federal government, which has yet to effectively secure California’s borders.

And the left who was preaching the separation of church and state is now singing a different tune..:lol:

YouTube - Radical Lefty Pelosi Wants Church to Preach Amnesty

At least you did not post a long, boring article from a right wing extremist, you are to be congratulated for that. I assume the blogger or the speaker you quote is a right wing extremist (as if you would quote anybody else), but at least you are not pushing it in anybody's face, we have to click on the link to see it.

I can't add to that:smile:..... You, have said it all so well:lol:

Unfortunately sometimes things reach a point where someone has to say something. When the bullsh*t gets piled up to your nostrils is probably a good time.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

War Between The States: Utility Commissioner Threatens To Cut Off LA Power If They Boycott Arizona. Things are heating up.

According to NBC LA (via Drudge Report), an Arizona utility commissioner is going to shut off power to Los Angeles if LA decides to boycott Arizona.

Los Angeles. LA gets about 25 percent of its power from Arizona.

Would love to see Arizona cut power to California.

Hey, if Arizona wants to cut power off to somebody, that is their business. But other states and cities also have the right to boycott Arizona.

Last time they tried to stick to their guns, by refusing to have MLK birthday as holiday (when all the other states had declared it a holiday). Arizona has a well documented history of racism.

That didn’t work out well for Arizona. They lost the Super Bowl, and the 200 million $ revenue that it generates. In the end, Arizona capitulated, with ill grace and grudgingly made MLK birthday a holiday.

So last time boycotts were very effective, it brought Arizona to its knees.

There are already too many statutory holidays, another reason why the world is in such dire financial straits. Refusing to recognize M.L.K. day has NOTHING to do with racism. When a stat. holiday for Christ was established, they should have made up their minds then just how many "heros" we can afford to honour in such a way.

JLM, don't swallow the bait. SJP can't argue the Law, he knows now that it will stand up to constitutional scrutiny, so he's deviating.

Let him, it looks good on him. He already conceded 10 pages back anyways.

Illegal Alien Arrested After Striking 4 Teenagers And Flinging 2 Of Them Off His Hood Before Then Taking Off

"Seared in his memory are the screams, the shattered windshield, the blood and the fleeing motorist.

"He hit two of them, were on the ground and then keep coming across the intersection with two of more girls on the hood of the car and they were just screaming. The school books are still clutched in their hands and papers were flying all over the place," Loverde said.

It is not just in the border states that crimes by illegals are happening.

Rape suspect deported 4 times
EDMONDS, Wash. – The man accused of raping a woman behind an Edmonds grocery store has been deported at least four times in the past 15 years, reports KIRO Radio.
An officer responding to a woman's cry for help Sunday night found 46-year-old Jose Madrigal on top of the woman and arrested him.
According to court documents, the woman told police that Madrigal had followed her and offered her $35 for sex, but she said no. She said Madrigal then forced her into the bushes on the north side of the store and raped her.
Documents say Madrigal told police "Sometimes we have control in our brains, but we make mistakes."
The 28-year-old Edmonds woman was treated at a hospital.
Snohomish County prosecutors have charged Madrigal in district court with second degree rape. He is also is being held for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Immigration laws must be tightened, not loosened up.

Try to picture this:

You live next door to your neighbour, whose dogs repeatedly crap on your lawn. Whose kids paint graffitis on your house, break your windows, bust you fences, steal from your yard, slash your tires and beat your own kids. Neighbours who will take advantage of your good nature, but stab you in the back at every opportunity. Neighbours who refuse to do bugger all about their dogs and kids that give you nothing but grief.

But just to be nice, and forget all their indiscretions, you invite them to your house, welcome them and serve them dinner, prepared with love and care.

Their answer is to criticize your home, denigrate the meal, calling yourself and your family cheapskates for not providing more and lecture you about hospitality, while their own way of hospitality is beating and kicking anyone who dares to come to their house.

Well, if you are a spineless wuss, you applaud them. You agree with them that your house is a dump. You fully support their contention that your wife, kids and anything you are supposed to love and protect is worthless and just to remain in his good graces, you profoundly apologize.

Sounds familiar? You must have been watching the State visit of Mexican President Calderon to Washington, and his interaction with President Obama.

SJP, Bad answer. Not even close to M.L.K. day protests, I know it hasen't sunk in with many yet, but anybody who is against what Arizona wants to do is in favor of uncontrolled come on in immigration, welcome all and join our welfare programs. Again it is a perfect example of how socialism works, as long as the rich can afford to pay, the left will continue to spend.

Lets put up a little of the poll:
WASHINGTON — A strong majority of Americans support Arizona's controversial new immigration law and would back similar laws in their own states, a new McClatchy-Ipsos poll found.
Sixty-one percent of Americans — and 64 percent of registered voters — said they favored the law in a survey of 1,016 adults conducted May 6-9.
Strikingly, nearly half of Democrats like the law, under which local law enforcement officers are tasked with verifying people's immigration status if they suspect them of being in the country illegally. While the Democratic Party generally is regarded as more sympathetic to illegal immigrants' plights, 46 percent of Democrats said they favored the law for Arizona and 49 percent said they'd favor the law's passage in their own states.
More than 8 in 10 Republicans and 54 percent of independents favor the law.
In addition, about 69 percent of Americans said they wouldn't mind if police officers stopped them to ask for proof of their citizenship or legal rights to be in the country; about 29 percent would mind, considering it a violation of their rights; and about 3 percent were unsure.

No sane person should trust what a public opinion poll of Americans says beyond a job approval rating of the President of the United States.

Asking policy in a poll like that is an invitation to trouble since Americans don't pay enough attention to policy debates.

I'm just saying, if you're making the case that the Arizona law is good, giving a poll result doesn't add any merit to the case.

I'm flabbergasted that there has been so much discussion about this for so long. Hey, if you disagree, there is a simple analogy. How would you like some alien barging into your house unannounced and uninvited and planning on living there? It's just that simple. I know there are one or two posters whose strong points are located below the neck and like to argue............................:lol::lol:

So, Icarus27, can you honestly say that

"No sane person should trust what a public opinion poll of Americans says beyond a job approval rating of the President of the United States."

seeing this:

Barack Obama approval rating drops to all-time low

This is pretty well the exact point in his mandate that he wants his popularity to hit rock bottom, as opposed to two years from now. When he gets back to 68% approval- that 68 will look better than the previous 68.

This is the perfect point in his mandate for low popularity rating, not two years from now. In that job, you have to be an A$$hole at some point, so it may as well be now.:lol:

Yes, I can honestly say that, despite the fact a March 29-April 1 CBS News poll found that 44% approve of Obama's job performance and 41% disapprove.

As an aside, I wonder if there's a big difference between the "CBS News" poll and the "CBS News/NY Times" poll. Cause an April 5-12 CBS News/NY Times poll had Obama at 50% approve, 40% disapprove, and an April 28-May 2 CBS News/NY Times poll had him at 51% approve, 39% disapprove.
