First period was great, those two quick goals in the second
were dissapointing, but the 3rd one was unacceptable, and
it is demitra again trying to be too cute. At that point
we had just started a power play, could have scored a goal,
and only be one behind, and the team was playing very well,
at least good enough to get a couple, but that cough-up to
make 3-0 buried us.
Dimitra is a free agent july 1, and I'm sure he won't be
back.
Our injuries on defense certainly didn't help.
In my opinion the series was lost in game 3 and 4, as the
canucks played very very poorly, with no dicipline.
Canucks played very strong all season in their own building,
and for some reason couldn't do it in playoffs.
But chicago also didn't play very well in their building,
as they should have lost game 2, but we let down in that
game and lost it, otherwise we would have won all 3 in
their building.
I have no complaints against canucks, without the strong
defensemen playing healthy and at their best, we could not
have continued at our best anyway, so chicago being very
healthy will give san jose a better challenge than canucks
would have.
Chicago did a number on the sedins, definitely did their homework,
and did a good job at shutting them down, all of their 'cute' little
passes that worked all season, always had a chicago player between them
to break them up.
Kesler and Burrows, who were both great players all year, just didn't rise
to the occasion, we needed them to produce some points, didn't happen.
Samuellson was very good in the l.a. series, but didn't do much in this
series, especially tonight, thought he had a poor game.
And Luongo was not steady, one great game then two bad games, that is how
his season went all year, hope he's better next year.
The defense has to be completely revamped for next season.
I have loved and supported canucks all year, and look forward to next season, and can't wait for training camp
to see all the young prospects and all the players come
out and start up again for next year.
GO CANUCKS GO
Maybe he was challenging people to step up and play above their usual level, something of a desperate effort.Could someone explain to me what the hell Alain Vigneault was doing last night?
The lines weren't handled very well at all.

Guess this is it for the canuck thread for this season.
Loved the hockey chat from everyone, and I'll be back
next season to pick up where we all left off.
Enjoy the playoffs everyone.
GO CANUCKS GO, (well, next year anyway)
GO CHICAGO GO
GO HABS GO
Trade for Price....he would love to pl;ay in his home province and from the looks of things the Habs will sign Halak no matter what happens now.
The kid has had a rough time but the skills are there, when he gets more mature he will be a good goalie.
He's a very good goalie, would be a number one on anyone's
team, it's just that halak is awsome, they are lucky to
have two such good goalies.
You could get Price for a pick and a roster player (third liner), and it would put pressure on Luongo.
I think this thread should die a quick death since they let the country down...

Thanks so much for all the info, tallola. Your posts helped make me a hockey fan again.
I'll be looking forward to chatting with you once the CFL season starts.
GO, RIDERS!
canucks have traded away michael grabner and steve bernier and their 25th draft pick for
keith ballard (defenceman in florida) and Victor Oreskovich, (prospect).
I hate to lose grabner, breaks my heart, but our defence drastically needs shoring up, and
this is gillis's first move to do that.
