One-eighth your energy - 50% of your humor - and all of your outlook on things....

You are amazing and such a hoot to read.

There's truth to this, we probably have one of the weakest parliamentary systems in the western world, individual MPs need more power.

The simple fact is Harper is farther along in the direction of dictator than even Chretien who gave ministers real power and voice, Harper would never tolerate a Paul Martin type who was a real threat to his position. With Harper everything is controlled from the PMO and individual MPs are nothing more than pawns on a chess board.

The very disappointing thing about Harper and the conservatives is they didn't have to take things this way. They got the slim minority they did because people were ready for a change, instead we've gotten even more obstacles to real democratic representation.
lmao The real obstacles to democracy in Canada is the politics of Canada and its politicians (almost ANY politician).

Change has to start somewhere.

From what I remember in November of 2005 Harper and the other opposition parties got together to vote non-confidence because of the so called democratic deficit under the Liberals. If anything this deficit has grown and Harper has concentrated more power in the PMO not less. The government has become less transparent not more and it took a recent finding by the Speaker of the house to just maintain some minimal parliamentary power.

Harper wasn't forced to act in the autocratic way he has, he's simply taken advantage of the vulnerabilities in our system to further his own agenda, something he was claiming to be protecting us from in regards to the Liberals.

If the conservatives teach us anything, it's that the political system needs fixing in Canada something most of us already knew from the last government, why hasn't the current one put this lesson into practice?

Because the Conservative mentality pretends for self serving reasons, that there is everything wrong with their thinking and practice, when in fact they stink worst then the Liberals.

Sock.... Go kick a tree as hard as you can with your left foot. Now go kick a concrete curb as hard as you can with your right foot. Now, when you're done being such a jerk, tell me which foot hurts the worst.

LW leave the jerk part out, we are entitled to our own opinion, but not to our own facts, it is not my own fact that the Conservatives told the people we are clean as a whistle and given the chance we will clean Ottawa from the corrupted Liberals.

They did not clean up, they have made a smellier performance then the Liberals, and that is not my own fact, it is public knowledge, the polls speak loud to that.

So..... why call me a jerk? when in fact my opinion is valid. Are you implying that I should from now own say that the Liberals and the Conservatives are both crap? That is not the case, one is slightly less worse then the other, and it is my right to choose the less morally damaged group.

Did you kick the tree or the curb? I thought so. Only a real jerk would. Now, if you'd READ without looking for insult, you might even learn the art of UNDERSTAND ... but I doubt it.

Do you have a link for your "fact"?

The BOTH have egg on their faces and a decidedly sulphuric odour about them. Tell us how to tell the difference between your version of shyte and anyone elses....

You are free to think what you like I am not calling you names for voting the group of crooks you think will protect your interest better. Calling me names will not change the course of political events in Canada, but rather introduces your intolerance for my opinion, there by dismissing real facts.

No, the topic is about Conservative deceit and my opinion is not fabricated to condemn the Conservatives because I like doing that, but rather posting on the subject thread the Conservative ills, which are greater then the Liberal ills.

I have the right to be pissed off, Autocracy is far from what the Conservatives told the people in 2004, and Harper is on record, he spend more time strengthening the power of a minority Government in the house then to take the country to the next level of prosperity. PS 100 Billion of red ink is far from prosperity...
I have the right to be pissed about all that. You do too. But don’t unload on me because I voiced my opinion…

Don't blow your lousy reading skills off on me. Where did I call you a name?

You're entitled to your delusion that being robbed by one is somehow better than being ripped off by the other.

Please DO learn how to read, Sock. You'll save yourself a world of confusion and humiliation.

WHERE did I call YOU an name? ... although I have a doozie of a zinger for you....

...or DID you kick as prescribed and now you're griping about the broken toes?

See how "jerk" is a conditional thing that YOU decide?

Some people could sharpen up their reading skills.

There's a difference between being called 'a wonderful upright kind of guy' and being told you're 'acting like a wonderful upright kind of guy'.

lmao I learned that sort of stuff from ChRETIeN. The Hypogrits are masters at arranging stuff in their favor while telling us what we want and need. Why should we expect different from the Cons?
