While it's possible there were mitigating circumstances (maybe the cop caught the guy earlier in the evening scr****g his wife), but even that is not an excuse to beat on the guy (her maybe).
lol, I think that would mean they would both not be at this event, if she was a hotti .

While I do not condone the kicking that was handed out, the people on the ground were not angels either. According to the article I read, they were previously kicking and punching someone on the ground(the unconcious guy) just before the officers arrived. However, the victim refused to cooperate and that is why the drunks aren't getting charged(well, as of right now at least).

So, while the kicking should not have happened, the one being kicked wasn't as innocent as was purported either.

The Criminals on the ground where also not enacted to enforce the law....

Being Criminals, they should be punished accordingly. Same goes with
the Law Enforcement Officers when they disregarded the law. Oh well...

The criminals on the ground weren't trying to enforce the law at all. The police were called because of the guys kicking and beating on the unconcious person on the ground. They had no lofty goals in mind except for pummeling him to oblivion.

I don't like bad cops either. It makes the good cops' jobs that much harder. The perception of the poilce is the cornerstone of the public/police relationship. If there is no trust, there is no relationship. Only anger and resentment(and possibly fear).

The guy they cuffed beat the crap out of some one before the video was taken. I hope they used the telephone book on him in the cell. Some where that the bleeding hearts can not see what he deserves. I am glad I am not a cop and have to deal with the idiots who get drunk out of their mind. He will get 3 meals and a bed. Some of these people should spend some time in a Mexican jail and see what rough is. I have never been in one but heard some pretty good horror stories. Maybe the cops should not bother going to the bars. Just let the drunks fight with who ever they want. Maybe they will give you a shot in the head next. Yah what a great idea. Police brutality. What a load of crock this video is.

Punishment for criminals is not the pervue of the police, regardless of what the criminal did. It is the responsibility of the courts to mete out punishment.

Cool, when you calm down, try a little commonsense and see how it plays out in court. Where all the facts can be presented.

I'm sure that nobody on the video is an Angel. Who's place is it to
decide who deserves what punishment? If it's the Police, then we
could save a whole bunch of money by just ditching the whole
justice system....so no more Judges, Juries, Lawyers, nothing....
....as the Police can take all those roles all at once on the scene.

There are reasons for the checks and balances in the system, and
that isn't being observed in that video.

Anyway....spilled milk at this point as this one is over and done with.
With the prevalence of easy, convenient, & cheap video recording
devices...this isn't the only video of this type in existence, and it will
not be the last.

The reputation (=level of respect, level of trust, etc...) of all Law
Enforcement is tarnished by the behavior displayed in these many
videos, etc...and it becomes a downhill snowball once this begins
with an "Us vs. Them" mentality between those with a badge and
those without. That's where we are at now.

The big questions now are:
1) "How does this get fixed?"
2) "How does the level of trust and respect get restored?"
3) "How does the 'Us vs. Them' mentality on both sides get resolved?"
