Thank You!

I will leave it on a good note:

Our America came with a Maple Leaf flag that nothing compares to except our people in which we are. And nothing compares to our people in which we are except for our America in which we reside. And where we reside in our America is Canada.
And nothing compares to Canada except for OUR America!

you misunderstood me , be peaceful but love your country more...

It may to you but I think patriotism causes wars. I am a citizen of Planet Earth. I don't believe in imaginary lines or political systems. I view all humans as my brothers and sisters, as I do all living things.

Yes, blind patriotism does cause wars.......

But what i would call, if i may, "informed patriotism" defends the progress of civilization and the development of the rights of man.

The barbarians are at the gate. They always are.

It's simple really. No system, no culture, no structure has ever made as many people as free and as rich as has western civilization and capitalism.

Full stop.

There are absolutely horrific faults in our way of life, and the development of same needs to progress cautiously, (dare I say it?) conservatively :).....but we are leagues ahead of those who threaten us, be it the fanatics in the caves of Afghanistan or the emerging fascist superpower headquartered in Beijing.......

Too much relativism is not simply wrong, it is suicidal.

The barbarians are on our side of the gate too. Their headquarters are in the Pentagon and Langley Virginia. US foreign policy has created most of the barbarians at the gate, including China. (If I remember correctly, communism was partially a response to the US invasion of Chine and interference with their internal affairs prior to WWII.) The history of civilization has been a blood bath but it is time that all stopped. It will not happen as long as we the people do not say enough is enough and wrestle control away from the barbarians within.

When did the U.S. invade China, especially before WW-II? If I remember history right, it was not the U.S. that caused the Boxer Rebellion, or occupied China at anytime before WW-II.

No, because the barbarians without will still exist, and no, I most emphatically do NOT accept the premise that we are responsible for the devolution of Islam in the last 600 years, nor am I willing to throw myself on the mercy of the fascist Chinese because of some minor malfeasance 80 years ago......the USA also helped China imeasureably in her war against Japan.......

AND, oddly enough, you misjudge the "barbarians" of the pentagon and Langley.....you should read up on the first Gulf War......on how George Bush Sr. had to literally berate and threaten his military and "intelligence" cabinet members to get them to stop stalling and finding excuses NOT to go to war.

In short, one can regret mistakes of the past, one can try to improve their effect upon the world at large, one can attempt to keep our own barbarians on a short leash, one can always distrust gov't and do what they can to keep it open and honest, but that does not mean one should open the gates and fall to their knees in abject apology before our enemies.

Our heads would be forfeit.

This would all be correct except for the fact that the military/industrial complex needs wars to keep their economy active. War in inevitable, if not directly, by instigation or support. The arms trade is the backbone of American and the global economy. Without it our freedom would be non existent. As it is, our freedom is based on the oppression of weaker countries and the support of brutal dictatorships. That is not real freedom or real civilization. It is, in fact, a mockery of both.

The military will go into the economic development trade....

"Right on Cliff, people is people."

Perhaps what you meant to say was: Right on, Cliffy, people are plants! And animals! And plants are animals!

Equality gone berserk.

But if you and Cliffy want to be equal to amoeba and mushrooms, you are welcome to it.

And you are free.
We make our own freedom. Governments do not exist to grant freedom. They exist to make us slaves to taxes. Banks make us slaves to interest, employers to wages. None of them are interested in you as a human being. You are just a number and a working drone.

Yes! With pleasure, but WE WILL NOT exclude the U.S. from OUR America though. The USA is not the subject of America, only Canada knows OUR America as our home and native land. :canada:

And.. we respect OUR America.

No no no no no... The Yankees are not idiots. It's not their fault they are not taught in school that America is approx. 6 times larger than the U.S. and that America has a much larger population than their country.

Ok. Well maybe, if they do not have the ability to understand that America does not compare to the U.S. in size and population... but that is not Canada's problem eh?

Every country has its good and bad points. Obviously Canada is not good enough for you theconqueror so I respectfully suggest if you wannabe an American then off you go. The USA is a great country there is nothing stopping you from going there and making a immigration request. Canada has some subtle and not so subtle differences to the USA and frankly, as much as I like America, I'd like to keep it that way.
So, I don't have a problem being a good freind to America and supporting our neighbor but I'll just stay home thanks.

Harper likes the Americans and he seems to worship the Americans and if he had a majority government would probably merge Canada with America like he merged the Canadian Alliance with the Progressive Conservatives.

He just refuses to accept that Canada belongs to the Canadians he seems to think that America is our nation.

I believe in Canada and when I immigrated to this great country at the ripe old age of four years old and when I got my Canadian Citizenship at nine years old I took the journey in the Canadian way of life I learned that countries that have small populations can accomplish a lot and when I was in the cadet program I learned about patriotism, love of country and honour and every Remembrance Day when I marched I thought of the sacrifices made by Canadian soldiers of past and present for this country’s freedoms.

Boys ran to the recruiting offices to sign up and go overseas to fight for this country.

Our soldiers marching home after the war, carrying stretchers of wounded buddies.

Americans are nice people but Canada is our nation and I wish Stephen Harper our Prime Minster remember this and act accordingly.

Canada is a great country and will always be a great country.
