I see the 'Canes really blew the Devils away, talk about an upset there. Guess they are making a desperate run for a play off spot.

yes, they're playing better now, have a few wins recently.

chicago has a few holes in their team lately, not winning
as much, and they don't look so cocky and confident as
they were all season.

I would be nice if canucks could win tomorrow, road trip
would be 5 and 3, pretty good, then home for olympics,
and out again for 6 more.

The Canucks got blown away by the Wild today 6-2. In their defense the Canucks spent 22 minutes of the game short handed against four minutes to the Wild. I don't know who the ref was but it is not the way of the Canucks to take a lot of penalties. I didn't watch the game so I can't report on the ref's calls.

yeah penalties very unbalanced, but canucks did not play
well, looked tired, and the sedins are still completely
absent, so not sure what to think about that right now.
Minnesota have been very strong at home, and showed it
again today, but they are fighting for playoff spot, and
desperate, and wanted that win very badly.

OK, Talloola, holidays for you are over, time to get back to vigilance with the Canucks going back into action tonight against Columbus and tomorrow against Detroit- both very winable games. Calgary I notice has dropped out of a play off berth. LOL.

We have the winning goaltender and we should expect big things out of the Sedins. Both Kesler and Demitra played better than I've seen them play in Vancouver. I thought Kesler was a bit of a P---k with his yapping about Luongo "fighting the puck". I guess he was trying to shake Luongo's confidence.

The Sedins did exactly SFA in the Olympics and they'll be right back in the swing of things tonight.

Kesler and Demitra you won't be able to find with a road map and I expect little from Luongo.

Yeah, looking forward to the game today, although luongo
won't be playing.

Trade deadline at noon tomorrow, so keep your ear glued
to the radio for any trades that could include canucks.
Mitchell might be out for the season, so they will probably
be looking for a defenceman.

I'm disappointed in many people's attitudes toward Luongo.
I can't really understand why he is given such a narrow
field, and most people seem to only see the odd goal he
lets in, and misses all the good side of his game. he is
also being criticized for letting in Kesler's goal, but
that puck was redirected by Kesler, any goalie would have
let it in, unless the puck just 'hit' them. If Luongo had
let in the gold medal goal, he would have been trashed all
over the place, but Miller isn't, and Miller had to play
'lights out', as that team would not have had the success
they had without him doing that, as Luongo just needed to
be solid, which he was, as his team was a much better team
than the u.s., and didn't leave him to save the game as
the u.s. team did right from the beginning against switzerland.
Game today at 4:00

I don't think you know what you're talking about. Both Kesler and Demitra played well for their respective teams at the Olympics. Luongo is rated by most to be in the top three goaltenders in the NHL.

Dimetra was placed on the olympic all star team, as he was
the top scorer, played great.

The Sedin's are the one's I'm concerned about, they didn't
do much before the olympics, the swedes were not very good
in the olympics, along with the sedin's, and I have to see
them get back to their earlier high level before I will
feel confident about them again.

I wondered if the Sedins were saving themselves for the Olympics in the last few games where they were almost invisible. I only watched the Swedes in one game at the Olympics and the Sedins were not standouts.

You can't let the small minds bother you Talloola, a week ago they were yapping about Brodeur. Mind you I think Luongo should be playing tonight, he's had two nights to rest up.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I don't think they were saving themselves, that would have
been a very dangerous game to play, when their team is
battling to stay on top of the western division, something
like that can't even enter their minds. The swedish team
looked very 'lacking' in intensity and emotion, until about
two minutes before they were knocked out, when they played
their minds out trying to even up the game, well, they
didn't deserve the win, and the sedin's at this point
have to be asking themselves 'where' their game went about
a month ago, right after we played toronto, first game of
the big road trip.
I will be very happy when I see them 'snap out it', and
that line was so so good, and that brings burrows to the
forefront too, as he is great on their line, fits right in,
but that line will be broken up when 'they' can't perform,
and that is not the fault of burrows at all, he can't
be the force driving that line, the twins have to do that.

Canucks are off to a very good start post olympics, with two
wins in two games, first against columbus and second against
detroit, the team looked good, had lots of jump, in the
second game, and were dominant once they got the 3-2 lead,
and didn't look back.

Luongo was solid, and kesler was very sharp, burrows scored
another goal, and now is equal to his last years points,
with 28 goals and 26 assists, and the twins played better
tonight, with 3 assists each.

They play Friday in Chicago. Chicago were beaten last night
by the islanders. Chicago doesn't look fabulous like they
did earlier in the season, they now look beatable.

I see Calgary took a 4/0 trimming to Minnesota. Sure will be nice not to have them to contend with at play off time - if they get a sniff of blood they can be a little pesky for the Canucks. I'm beginning to wonder now who the Canucks will be facing in the Stanley Cup finals.

San Jose will be facing the Penguins and the Canucks will be wondering what they have to do to get by the Blackhawks, who bounce them from the post season for the 2nd straight season...

Nah, Crosby has had his "15 minutes of fame", Luongo's turn.

Demitra might help us if we use him right.. He was very good in the Olympics. The Sedins seem to be coming back. The Canucks might just pound the hell out of Chicago on Friday. We'll see.;-)
