WASHINGTON (AFP) – US President Barack Obama suffered another setback Monday as a fifth Democratic senator, centrist heavyweight Evan Bayh, decided not to run for re-election in dismay at the bitter political climate.
Obama, who reportedly tried to talk Bayh out of retiring, faces a looming Republican resurgence and risks watching strong majorities in Congress crumble in November mid-term elections, and with them his ambitious reform agenda.

Unlike Patrick Kennedy who most certainly would have been beaten in the November election, Bayh was enjoying an approval rating. Most of his flack came from the Progressives in the Democrat Party. He is a centrist Democrat which is what the Democrats need right now. They just don't get it, but they shall.

I think they liked the whinning better than being in control. It was so much easier for them.

I am starting to think that President Obama is dumber than a brick. If President's "Stimulus" package is doing so good and helping America, why does he and his buffoon buddy have to go around the country a year later telling us how much better off we are. Better off than what? Unemployment is still over 10%, when Obama said it would only go to 8%. They should be talking to te couple of extra million overage unemployed and tell them how great they are doing. Biden and Obama should just pack up their little road show and go home.

Trust in U.S. Goverment nears All-Time Low

At 75 percent, the percentage that disapproves of Congress now matches the highest level recorded in this poll; only in October 2008 and March 1992 was disapproval so high. The two parties themselves have also fallen in public estimation -- more than half the public views the Democratic Party and the Republican Party unfavorably.

And while President Obama fares better than Congress in the poll, his job approval rating is now 46 percent, matching his lowest approval rating ever.

I always find this lack of trust in Congress amusing. If Americans dislike their elected representatives so much why do they continual reelect them? No other democracy on the planet has such a low rate of turnover in elections.

BUENA PARK, Calif. - Even as the American economy shows tentative signs of a rebound, the human toll of the recession continues to mount, with millions of Americans remaining out of work, out of savings and nearing the end of their unemployment benefits.
Economists fear that the nascent recovery will leave more people behind than in past recessions, failing to create jobs in sufficient numbers to absorb the record-setting ranks of the long-term unemployed.

Oprah-Michelle Obama catfight! Oprah calls Barack "my husband"; Michelle screams "Ya'll get off ma man!"

Ever since she openly endorsed Obama, Oprah has seen her popularity fizzle. First it was her angry fans - middle-aged white women - who happen to be Hillary Clinton's biggest supporters - who lashed out at her.

A recent poll showed Oprah's ratings taking a precarious nosedive. A once-Oprah fan Savanna Vanilla - who holds the record for attending the most Oprah shows - said "We always saw her as Mother Earth, y'know, above and beyond race and politics, then she went and threw her support behind an unknown empty suit. All because he's black - excuse me - half black. What kinda judgment is that?"

To add insult to injury, on her show yesterday, Oprah longingly referred to Obama as "my husba..." before quickly changing the topic. She then just as quickly cut to a commercial but not before cameras caught an enraged Michelle Obama lunging at Oprah screaming: "Ya'll lay off ma man, y'hear. Ah aint gonna share him with nobody -unh-unh - not even you".

Readers will remember a similar Freudian slip committed by Condolt-leezza Rice at a press conference years back when she was praising George Bush's ability to chew gum and walk at the same time.

Looks like the Double-O factor has become a BIG DOUBLE ZERO. Poor "Desperately seeking my Mandela-soul-mate" Oprah, like so many women before her she got taken in by the smooth-talkin', good-lookin' dude that came outa nowhere!

Barack Obama has won the cross country skiing at the Vancouver Olympics, to be run on Sunday the 28th of Feb.
IOC spokesman Che Riviera said the committee had decided to award Obama the gold medal after the president made a series of speeches in which he promised to ski an astonishing time of 30 minutes in the 10 kilometer event.
“Obama captured the world’s attention, and expressed values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world’s population,” Riviera said.
“We would hope this will enhance what he is trying to do.”

Obama and Oprah richly deserve each other: Empty dress and empty suit.

O and O. No better definition of DOUBLE ZERO!
