Well i was at the sports bar last night, again and was chillin with a dude from the reserve i happened to mention from Manitoulin. What a coincidence, eh?

He was a cool guy, he said i have a loud voice but im alright. There were 4 of us all talking watching the detroit colorado game. We talked hunting fishing, threw some jokes out there etc... I hope he puts in a good word for us white devils at his reserve, because he left in a good mood. The wife actually had to drag him out everyone was having a good time lol

Funny, that's not how we see it...We've been saying "Canada 0, Mohawks 1" since. But I would rather say "Mohawks 1, Quebec 0". Because it really wasn't Canada that stood in our faces.

Well, yes. If you 'win' by lying and cheating, then you may win on the surface, but you also turn all against you. Through manipulation, they managed to get the Mohawk to step down at some of their blockades, etc. and then stormed the camps and managed to beat a few local Mohawks up. In the process though, they also turned much of the public to sympathize with the Mohawk. In that sense their victory was shallow, quickly followed by defeat in the war for public opinion. In the end they managed to get the traffic flowing again, but also weakened their position in the eyes of the public. And do you think anyone will believe the military again next time there's any kind of promise made?

But I think any long-term war will go to the victor of the hearts and minds campaign, no matter how much more militarily or economically powerful the opponent is. Once you get the public behind you, especially when you get some of those who more closely associated with the other side to take your side, you've essentially won, even in military defeat, because the military victory without public support will be fleeting at best.

im just pissed that people think they can assume they know who iam based on my skin colour..... I guess im angry like natives also
Colour is an attitude. A little story about a white guy who went to a large native gathering on the Stony reserve: I was there for 10 days. It was a gathering of medicine people representing most of the tribes from North America. The year 1978. I went there seeking help. I felt completely emotionally and mentally imbalanced. For three days no one would talk to me or acknowledge my presence except one old cranky spiritual elder who told me to get lost.

On the third day I was sitting on a hill over looking a small meadow. I noticed a couple of guys building something. I am pretty good at building things so I went down there and asked them if I could help. They accepted my offer and they taught me how to build a sweat lodge and the proper way to build a fire to heat the rocks. Then they invited me to be the door keeper that night.

I think the moral of that story is obvious. I was eventually taught how to conduct a sweat ceremony, which is one of their most sacred rituals. It is their equivalent of a church. So even a "white" guy can be accepted on the reserve with the right attitude.

i have a good attitude, the only thing wrong with me is my loud voice...... Ive met good ones, but whenever they subject of the whiteman comes up, no matter how nice i was it always boils down to your people..... this your people that...... They want me to understand but yet dont understand my roots. Its a 2 way street and if people think im racist then get out of here...

And then seeing that Mohawk getting all the white men off the reserve ****, just lost it for me i dont care.... I just dont, its obvious they dont want to listen so why should i..

AND my cousin has mohawk or iroqious whatever is from the ottawa area blood in him, and i actually sent him that thread in an email and said it was bull****, he agreed

Halfway between Parry Sound and Sudbury there is the magnetawan reserve. Whenever the white man goes there we are told to go smelt fishing at the white house near the mouth of the river, thats where the white man fishes.

Im cool with that...

What im not cool with is some stupid drunk native and his girlfriends coming up to me threatening me saying im on his land and he is going to throw me in the river. I said look bud that person who owns the house says im allowed here so there is no problem. YADA YADA YADA, get out of here before i leave you on the ground leaking, they say to me....... Saying i was resposnible for their peoples slavery and hardships, .......

the last 3 yrs ive been there same **** different people, even my own family warned me about not going anywhere near there. I thought they were crazy and biased at the time they told me, turns out they were only watching out for me......

I read a book a long time ago that included letters written by Brebeuf and his fellow "martyrs" to their monastery back in France. They complained that the indians were ignoring their presence, that they pretended they didn't exist, like they were ghosts in the village. Over a period of time they became more and more despondent and then started talking about how martyrdom was the ultimate act of faith.

The Jesuits began to get in the people's way, trying to get them to acknowledge their presence. They became a constant source of annoyance to the indians, purposely trying to get them to kill them. Well, they got their wish. I think that the idea that they were martyrs should be revisited, because in fact it looks like they committed "suicide by indians".

Do that mean the Wendat people called on Iroquois to invade and kill everyone just to get rid of some pesky Bibleboyz?
