And why is that? You yanks can't handle your booze? That is a surprise considering yankee beer is like water....
It's not that they can't handle it, it's that they have to drink so much of it that they have to live their lives in a constant state of "buzz" so as to not mess with the next "kegger"...

Yep....always doing what your told, following the rules to the letter.......being uptight......that shows 'backbone". (sarcasm alert)
Actually...Isn't this more like the Yank's with their sense of moral superiority, just trying to force their puritanical views on the far more liberated?

I am so proud of the Women's Hockey team's achievement however their post-game booz-up on the ice has left a very dark mark on an otherwise flawless performance.
There is no disputing that they earned the gold. I am just so dishearted about how they took their gold medals and such a prestigious hard-earned win "the Canadian way" then dragged it through the mud to the corner bar! Whatever where they thinking?!?!? Where was the coach/assistant coaches/ANYBODY!!!!!!
Mark my words, this will NOT just go away. This is a stigma that many of the ensuing teams (especially the upcoming mean's team) will bear the brunt of, for years!
.....soooo sooo sad.
As a side bar - as if this isn't bad enough - one of the girls is under-age. .....wonderful!
Oh please - Excuse me, but 'they dragged it through the mud'?!? The crouds had left - they thought they were in the arena by themselves. They didn't get roudy, they didn't hit the bars and drink themselves into oblivioun or get into fights, they had some beer and some champagne, they had some fun. As far as the underage girl? Her birthday is in March. some provinces have a 19 year age limit, some have an 18 year limit. she's said that she didn't know BC's age limit - I believe her. Heaven knows she had a lot of things to think about before she went to Vancouver - I'd think that the legal age of imbibing would be the least.
Think about it - VANOC had no problem with Arnold S. carrying the torch. He admits that he took steroids but doesn't think there's an issue because it was legal at the time. He's been on the cover of that Cigar magazine - and those that run this idiotic organization is having issues because a team got all happy that they won and they celebrated - not knowing that there was someone spying on them? give me a break.
And yes - I would LOVE these women to be examples to all Canadian girls. They played hard, they were graceful at winning, and they show that they can have a laugh.
I'd like to hear from the person that took the pictures and sold them to the highest bidder. I'd like to know if they would at least be honest and say that they did it for the $$$.Betcha won't hear that!

Big deal - what we should be celebrating is that we have those gold medals? Get over the whole USA/Canadian thing. If we win those medal;s it's because we earned them. It doesn't prove us better or worse than the USA - it just means that we've excelled in those specific sports.
I don't need to judge myself by the States - or any other country. I'll judge us by what WE do and how I think it's right or wrong. We're old enough as a country, and we've done enough on our own as a country that we should start viewing our accomplishments and failures by our own standards - and not by those of other countries.
Stop acting like a child! Get over the USA/British thing! Not to mention, the self righteous arrogance of those who believe the 'Canadians are so mild mannered and humble' garbage! Sorry - too often we ARE self righteous - and in being so, aren't really 'humble'!
