One question anyone- Is there anyway now that CAnada can win Gold without having to play the U.S. again?

If we both keep winning, we'll probably meet them in the
gold medal round, but I'm going to check the chart, will
get back to you.

I'm back.
Not sure, if we beat russia and the u.s. beat 'whomever' they play, not sure if we
will play them, we might have to play the winner of the other game, and if that
is the case, if we win 'that' one, and the 'u.s.' keep winning, we will play
each other in the gold medal game.

I would like to play them again, we outplayed them, should have won that game,
so let's get at em again, and do it right next time.

I've now read the schedule, and if u.s. and canada keep
winning, they will meet for the gold medal, otherwise
they won't meet again.

If we beat Russia we will play the winner of sweden and
'yet to be determined' game between slovakia and norway.

United States have to play Switzerland next, if they win
that one, they will play 'winner' between czech republic
and finland.

I'm not impressed by that win at all....it was Germany....."don't mention the war".....Basil Faulty.

Luongo....Broduer...Fleury....hell, they could have put a holographic image of Carey Price in net and still could have won that game.

They win today, I may, just may give them some ounce of credit, but until then....I don't believe.

So what, a game is a game, have to follow the rules, and
it was another game under their belt, the team needs to
keep playing, they need more chemistry, and it was also
good for luongo to have a game in the books, before the
russia game.
And don't think the russian team is all that powerful, they have
their problems too.

It sure will be, Gopher. It'll be fast and intense with bodies flying everywhere.

You made the right call!

Canada started with an incredibly high level of intensity and that made all the difference. Russia's D couldn't keep up with the Canadian forwards and this left their poor goalie utterly helpless!

A very convincing victory that should take them all the way to the finals.

I see the team coming together very nicely, chemistry
is strong now, lots of confidence and determination.
Babcock has his lines just where he wants them now,
and luongo looks good, and gives them a sense of
stability.
The swedes/slovkia game will start right after this
finland/czech game, and we will play the winner of
the swede game.
Next game for canada on Friday.
Canadians definitely took advantage the the russian D,
as was expected, and drove Nabokov out of the nets.

GO CANADA GO

My concern is if they can come to the next game with the same intensity. If they can they'll blow out Sweden as well. If not, it's a toss up.

they won't let up now, the diversity they played through,
and now they can smell victory, and will strive to get
there, win or lose, no let up.

Finland just defeated the Czechs, so the u.s. will play
finland.

it's a very strategic game, lots of different shots, and
lots of planning and discussion.
they play 10 ends
highest score wins
too many rules to list here, just start watching, and
listen very carefully to announcers, they explain it
in much detail, it is very interesting and difficult
to play, but not hard to understand once you take an
interest.

You probably already know this but in case not, the thrower puts an inside or outside turn on the rock, which makes it move (curl) left or right. The sweepers can keep it sliding longer.

The goal is to have your rock(s) closest to the center. Lots of strategy involved. It's a bit like watching a chess match on ice.
