I have noticed there hasn't been a sign of Ron McLean at
these Olympics, or Don Cherry, hope that continues, they
are a toronto act, should stay there.

I saw a guy walking around the olympics yesterday with a
big fluffy dog head on, we thought maybe it was McLean,
as he probably shouldn't show his face in Vancouver,

lol

If he stopped to lick his bum, it was McLean. Cherry couldn't find his bum with both paws...;-)

This all started with the rancid British tabloid press, who look for any angle, always negative, to characterise things in the most hostile and aggregious light.. to sell papers. They started off declaring it the most dangerous Olympics after the death of the Georgian luger.. and went on from there, blowing up, out any proportion to reality, complaints they could cherry pick from athletes or spectators to make their case.

These are in fact extremely well organized and operated games. The facilities are great. Even the inclimately warm weather has not affected the competition, the atmosphere is friendly and sporting. Every games develops its own character, and will see its share of problems.. but this 'worst game's' is an invention of some bottom dwelliing 'journalists'... and is not worth giving any more attention to than the National Enquirer.

Our own reporters went to London to seek out the reason why Britain has been so negative about our Vancouver Olympics. An editor at one of their major newspapers admitted they are trying to make us look bad so they can push their own summer Olympics in London in 2012.

very tacky but typical of the media, too bad they have
so much power, and also suck people in with lies, and
so many think it is the truth, media need to have more
control over them, but by who, government, no thanks, but
by an independent group who make them be accountable and
truthfull, instead of gossipy and untruthful.

Through the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing, Canada has won a total of 379 medals in the Summer and Winter Olympics.

Just the other day I was amazed to learn from a friend (Norwegian) to learn that Norway holds the record for number of medals won over the years in the Winter Olympics. (Vat's de matter vith dem Svedes?) There's three times as many of them.

A tiny bit of Cherry goes a hell of a long way.

Thats because they both work for CBC, not CTV.
