Not anymore. Not with digital. The one thing about cable that IS better is that you can split the cble and run multiple tvs and with satellite, you have to have a receiver for all tvs unless you run the same channel on each tv

We did that long ago. Better service and it's a little cheaper.Like I said if you don't like cable then go to the compitition.
Well, I guess we'll just drop one set of channels then.Satellite companies are the same companies that are asking too.

I don't watch TV. I hear it from time to time but never watch. When our girl heads to school next fall the TV service gets axed.Well, I guess we'll just drop one set of channels then.
It is to grandma if she can't afford to watch her stories.Ten dollars is not the end of the world
Nope but it's too much for greedy cable companies.some people can't have satalite because they are facing the wrong way especially in highrise buildings so they are stuck with cable.
Ten dollars is not the end of the world
I like some shows. I think we might watch tv about 5 hours a week of regular tv, and a movie once in a while. Losing a batch of channels is not a big loss.I don't watch TV. I hear it from time to time but never watch. When our girl heads to school next fall the TV service gets axed.
So it's costing you about $3 an hr and will increase to $3.50 with this $10 fascist grab?I like some shows. I think we might watch tv about 5 hours a week of regular tv, and a movie once in a while. Losing a batch of channels is not a big loss.
We have Shaw as net provider but left their tv in the dust before they developed the package thing. If we dropped a package, we'd save about $12 to 15 a month. So it's costing you about $3 an hr and will increase to $3.50 with this $10 fascist grab?
May as well download what you like if you cable co isn't your i-net provider as a package.
We are rural. Only thing that comes here over the phone line is phone service. And when the MIL heads for the happy hunting grounds, the landline gets turfed. Skype and cells will be the order of the day.We have digital TV over the phone line along with internet and home security. Save shiitloads and one bill is nice.
It won't be long before you get TV, phone and internet over your hydro lines. We are rural. Only thing that comes here over the phone line is phone service. And when the MIL heads for the happy hunting grounds, the landline gets turfed. Skype and cells will be the order of the day.
I heard Ontario was trying out the net over hydro lines thing. Guess I could look up how it's going. It won't be long before you get TV, phone and internet over your hydro lines.
There is that, too. When we first got satellite, we were told we could choose what channels we could get. Well, that was only part of it. They forgot to mention that the channels were parts of "packages". I see Shaw has "digital", "basic", and "classic: tv. Same idea. One problem with cable companies is that they pick and choose what channels you can watch. For example TSN2 and speed are not available on my cable unless you pay a substantial fee for them. Cable companies suck you dry.
