It is certainly a fixation on how powerful He is when enforcing His rules. Don't eat and you will not die was the rule that was broken. Everything after that is just part of what goes on when there is something called death. You can't do anything about it, He can, get used to it not changing when you demand it be changed.
What is killing somebody before they will die (for God alone) if you can and do restore what you took? You never post anything about things like this verse below, as this one example so how do you show you do not hate Him.

Re:21:4:
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow,
nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away.

Anybody who has died and been revived knows there is no pain or sorrow on the other side. I don't hate a fiction. The Creator is not anything like your god. Sorry, but you are farting in the wind if you think that you can scare me into believing in your god. I fear no god because there is nothing to fear.

Not even close. Casuistry worthy of a Jesuit, clearly written by somebody on Matt's side who makes no attempt to represent Len's perspective intelligently. Examine Matt's assumptions and what the writer lets him get away with, starting with Matt's fourth statement, and the lame responses he puts in Len's mouth.

I dunno Dex. I went back to my source for that conversation, and the guy has a very extensive volume of online debates he claims to have participated in.

And according to Wikipedia he's a prominent protagonist in the Evangelical movement and in particular apologetics.

I do. I know sophistry when I see it. Len allows Matt all his assumptions, unchallenged, in that exchange (which I wouldn't do), so of course he loses. That's a setup.
I agree that it was a set up. Also, it starts with the assumption the the god mentioned in Job is God Almighty. That is a rigged assumption. If you don't believe then the argument is pointless. That whole argument was written to make a point in favour of the writer's beliefs and probably never happened.

The post wasn't about fear, you said you don't hate Him, I don't think your posts say that at all. They tend to support that you hate Him and those that believe in Him...now back to the subject, if you want to discuss this particular part start a new thread. (not that I'll ever post on it,lol)

Shouldn't the existence of God be a personal thing? I don't know of anyone who has a photograph of Him or a voice recording of him. People have different thresholds of belief and isn't that what we should be respecting? I personally think there is a "higher power", but who knows where it is or what form it is. Anyway religion belongs in the category of MYOB.

.......... unless your memory isn't photographic.

As I said, if a god had any sense it would just preprogram everything into people in the first place and never mind the cryptics to see if they can figure it out.

That doesn't mean it is comprehended,
The Bible is necessary, God says what He will do before He does it. Israel had the OT that made it quite clear that they would be gathered to Heaven at some point. What wasn't made so clear is that before that happened, stated events made sure the rest of mankind would be there also.
No bid deal if you don't understand, He doesn't hold that against anybody.

He didn't intend to leave any 'proof'. The moment of His return is the proof.

That is excellent, then the religious fanatics should just relax while the rest of us sit back and await the proof.
All God intended to do was to make His word available. If it wasn't accepted then He would take care of it at His return. Published in all the land is different that taught in all the land.
The short version.
M'r:6:11:
And whosoever shall not receive you,
nor hear you,
when ye depart thence,
shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them.
Verily I say unto you,
It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment,
than for that city.

How He deals with 'fanatics' is more than you need to know, other than to say they get worse treatment for calling Christ Lord and then not following His instructions..

Was God a fanatic?

Was Jesus a fanatic?

The term fanatic is used by people who are too lazy to follow God's laws.

The word fanatics is used to shut people up like homophobia is used by gays to shut people up so they can legitimize their cause

I note you are using the past tense, Liberalman. There is hope for you yet. Yes, God (At least God of Bible) was a fanatic. His message in the Bible is, do what I tell you or else.

I don’t think Jesus was a fanatic, he was just a man who was trying to live his life as best he knew.

My understanding is that the word "fanatic" is just the $100 word for fan.

At work if a person accuses you of being a homophobic you can be fired from your job so people won't talk about their religous views to other religous co-workers

Surely you are exaggerating, Liberalman? If somebody calls you a homophobe you will be fired from your job, just like that? No hearing, no investigation, no due process? I find that hard to believe.

That's understandable, when I was working you could be fired for anything except doing your work.

Not right away. First they send you to a "sensitivity training" boot camp. If you refuse to go, your goose is cooked. At the end of taking the course, you're fired, anyways.

Same thing if you are accused of being anti-feminist and/or harrassment. Accusation is as good as conviction.

Your right YukonJack but that is put on your work file and it stays there for a long time. The sensitivity training boot camp is set up by gays and I hear at the end they expect you to hug and kiss a gay man and say you are sorry before they will let you back to work

Most businesses require a pretty high standard of proof in order to take action on accusations like that seeing as they can be sued for wrongful dismissal if the accusation turn out to be false.

"Most businesses require a pretty high standard of proof in order to take action on accusations like that seeing as they can be sued for wrongful dismissal if the accusation turn out to be false."

Theoretically, that is true.

But in this politically correct world all employers are rated by how many perfectly good employees they fire for politically correct reasons.

A fired employee HAS NO CHANCE. So, lawsuits are extremely rare, the innocents suffer and the politically correct garbage wins.
