That is the assumption of the dogmatic mind, the mind that does not look outside its own belief system to try to understand what others are thinking.
That would be the path the dust would take, I have no idea what path you think the spirit takes but if it involves being aware after death and experiencing things before your next breath of life then I find that highly unlikely. Does everybody just take a spin on reincarn wheel and hope for the best. Going from human to being a beast of the field is an improvement in just what way?

Reincarnation allows for spiritual growth. There is no way to experience all there is to experience about being human in one life time. You will never know what it is like to be of a different sex or race, to live in different geographical locations in different historical time frames or cultures. It is call spiritual evolution and cannot be discovered in a book. It has to be experienced in life.
It also creates the possibility for a never ending hell on earth. Say a child dies of starvation at the age of 10, she comes back as a human and experiences another life that is constant torment (as hunger is) until death finally comes, again.

I do not believe in the standard version of reincarnation, but I would feel cheated if all there was to life was one pass at the game. There are a lot of things that I did wrong or would have done differently in this lifetime. Perhaps I will get them right in the next one. And I don't believe in dust. That is mostly dead skin. But the energy that animated this vehicle that I call my body is never diminished or destroyed. It is just transformed into new form.
It wouldn't matter, you are dead, nothing matters and there is nothing written anywhere that says a person is entitled to experience everything life can offer. Some don't even see their first sunrise, that's it for the experiences of that person, next...
Are you allowed to plan your own after-life?? (modified versions)

Oh man I said that?!!
Then again I have to explain that it was more of an image than actual or literate.
All I can say about my beliefs is I am not bound to one thing . It varies and on a certain level I don't hold on too tightly. In the end , we are never sure of anything , not on this side of life and the perception of what's on the other side.
See how easy it is to dig yourself a hole?
I'm sure of one thing.....you two need to edit your posts so my name isn't there, then it will be easy to figure out who said what.

"And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship Him, whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." Rev 13:8.

He was slain before man sinned. He was slain, so that, we could live an eternal life.

I hope, that, you choose eternal life.

My version of eternal life or yours? Hey! You want t o believe in that stuff, that is your right. Telling others what they should believe is just plain arrogant, self righteous and ignorant. Like I said on the other thread, Jesus chastised the self righteous and said they would be rejected from his kingdom. I would be changing my tune if I were you.

Life is a learning process. Nothing stays the same. Nothing is stagnant. Flexibility is the key to survival. We cannot know everything and at any given time, we choose a belief that suits the situation. I do not believe everything I believed yesterday. I expect tomorrow will be similar.

To say that this is the truth and there is nothing more to know is to stagnate. When something stagnate it dies and rots. I guess that it why the religious can be so repugnant.

are you looking for another thumbs up?????

on that level we are in total agreement.\
When you believe in something then it closes doors to other beliefs . In this cosmic world we live in we are mere infants in intelect and such. The more you know the more you realize thats you know less than there really is to know. 8O

Would that be similar to these two phrases?
When applied to our physical world our size is quite small "small dust of the balance" and in terms of the amount of time we have to aquire wisdom, that is also quite small when compared to the whole "It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." Pooof!!! Our lives are but a blink of an eye in the life of the Earth. Do you really think we have time to become fully human with only one kick at the cat?

Christianity makes no sense.

An omniscient deity creates a universe and within it a paradise to place the one species that this deity is interested in. This deity knows that this species will disobey the one commandment that is given to them because this deity created them in this way. Because they disobey the deity as per the deity's plan they deity curses them with sin. To remove this sin, the deity takes a form incarnate as one of this species and then sacrifices the incarnate form to itself.

Well, that is just a whole lot of nothing is it not? Masturbation makes more sense than that; at least there is the climax. What is there in Christianity but a want of meaning? If you are omniscient, why get angry and curse your creations for something you planned? So you can kill yourself later?

Honestly, what is the point? Give me omnipotence, I will show you real creations.

You are born fully human, what you do in those years that you can draw breath might not be very humane, messing it up does not get you another go. If it did everybody would mess up just do they could avoid death. Once you have it all then what? Some astrology things say you start ar aries and keep coming back until you get that right then you move onto the next one, etc. Nobody know what happens after you get spices right.

Perhaps you are human physically. There are a lot of people who are inhuman mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Was Homo Sapien fully human or did he wait until he became Homo Sapien Sapien? Was Hitler, Mussolini, Hannibal Lecter fully human.

The Spice is Right. The game show that keeps them coming back!

I'm still wondering what led you to believe that you get to keep living (even if it means coming back multiple times) until you have experienced all that life has to offer. Do you appear two times at a machete killing, once as the victim and once as the hacker? One question I asked was why would it be impossible for you to come back as a person (multiple people actually) who is killed a thousand time in the manner above?

Sorry, it should be pisces

Humm! I believe I reasoned it out after I flat lined during a heart attack, or maybe it was the time I flat lined after the logging truck slammed me at 60 mile an hour. I went somewhere else and was shown the way forward but given a choice to come back here. Why I chose to come back here both times has to do with unfinished business in this life time.
