That's right gerry they are. Any group of people who congregate for common cause be it religion or labour have in fact unionized and are in reality a union. Together they stand divided they fall. A carved in stone universal truth, disbelieve at your peril.

Maybe that's why I don't get on well with either of them.... I like standing on my own hind legs and thinking my own thoughts....

CUPW Jews are being persecuted on the shop floor because the membership believes that the national president wants it that way.

I hear that in every local union meeting across Canada, a human rights statement is read that protects women, gay, visible minorities rights but the CUPW Jew is being sacrificed.

Our tax dollars are being paid to them to do a job and their union is paid to protect their rights yet with the Boycott Of Israel the union has decided to sacrifice the Jewish members just because they are Jews and nothing else.

The only federal government union, what does this say about Canada and their beliefs?

... Like when many folks congregate to see a concert or kids that gather at the local community pool do so with unionization in their hearts and minds?... Damned socialist rec facilities!

If what you claim is true (unlikely) then Jewish members of CUPW should stand up for their rights. They will be backed by the Canadian government and the CUPW:

Religious based discrimination is illegal in Canada.
Canadian charter of rights and freedoms

CUPW is obligigated to defend its members against religious based discrimination:
No discrimination

You have a right to work without being subject to discrimination, interference, restriction, coercion, harassment, intimidation or stronger disciplinary measures because of your age, race, creed, colour, national origin, political or religious affiliation, sex, physical or emotional handicap, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, conviction for an offence which has been pardoned or membership in the union (Article 5 of CPC-CUPW contract).

CUPW - Your Rights - Urban Postal Operations

I think you are making stuff up Liberalman. When I did a google search using the keywords "Jews", "persecution" and "CUPW", the only thing I found on the internet which claimed CUPW persecutes Jews is your post! Now its possible that the CUPW has a few anti-Semitic members who have harassed Jewish co-workers. If so those people should exercise their legal and union rights.

Interestingly I also found this:
Alliance of Concerned Jewish Canadians congratulates CUPW for its courageous stand

"The Alliance of Concerned Jewish Canadians welcomes the Canadian Union of Postal Workers' passage of resolution 338/339 at their recent convention and congratulates CUPW for its courage in becoming the first national labour union in North America to take such a strong stand against the repressive policies of the Israeli State," said ACJC National Coordinator Diana Ralph.

"As a coalition of Jewish organizations and individuals from across Canada, we represent the concerns of Canadian Jews who support a peaceful resolution to the Israel Palestinian conflict," Ralph continued. "We believe that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is rooted in the expulsion of Palestinians from their land sixty years ago, coupled with the brutality of more than forty years of occupation," she explained. "Over the years, the policies of the Israeli government have become increasingly repressive as the state enforces its rule over a captive Palestinian population and attempts to impose its will on the rest of the region."

"This increased repression is exemplified by the construction of the illegal separation wall in the West Bank and the 2006 military assaults on both Lebanon and Gaza, which destroyed infrastructure and imposed collective punishment via the extensive killing and maiming of civilians," Ralph emphasized. "The ongoing siege of Gaza has created an unprecedented humanitarian crisis for Gaza's 1.5 million people. In addition, Israel continues to threaten a preemptive attack on Iran, the consequences of which would be unimaginable for both the Middle East and the rest of the world."

"It is time for all people of good will to take a stand against this dangerous, aggressive behaviour. The ACJC applauds CUPW for taking such a stand. It is our hope that more national unions in Canada, North America and around the world follow CUPW's lead so that we can all look forward to a day when life in Israel/Palestine is no longer be defined by occupation and war, but by the enjoyment of human rights, dignity and justice for all of the people living there," Ralph concluded.

Neither of them sound familiar. I thought it was OPSEU or CUPE. Google has nothing.
You might be thinking of PIPS, Professional Institute of the Public Service, an organization that couldn't decide whether it was a professional association or a labour union and made a rather bad job of trying to be both. I was required to be a member of it for a few years when I worked for the feds, including the time this happened, some time in the 90s I think. The unionized admin and clerical workers went on strike against it. The leadership on both sides was horribly embarrassed--rightly so, with both sides being unions--and the newsletters they circulated were vastly amusing as they tried to pussyfoot around the usual things labour and management say about each other's positions without appearing weak and stupid. They failed at that.

Alliance of Concerned Jewish Canadians

Alliance of Concerned Jewish Canadians is mostly Arabs with very few Jewish members.

They are not too popular they don’t even have their own web site.

This is a Arab propaganda organization.

With all the money that CUPW gets in union dues you would think that they would check out the valitity of any group that supports their cause.

What a waste of union members money.
