unforgiven its the way it is, take the names of all the people who rely on this sort of money and take it up with them.

No, I'll discuss the issue here and then see if I can get politicians to change the rules. That's is the way it is.

Like i said i understand them protecting polar bears, but brown and black bears are a dime a dozen

Well then you should educate yourself about the issue so that you can understand the differences among the subspecies of Black Bears so that you don't make incorrect statements like "Black Bears are a dime a dozen." and in so doing, maybe you will share your new found knowledge with others who think that killing animals for fun is just fine. Remember there used to be an abundance of lions and tigers, rhino and gorilla, whales and fish and many more until we started hunting them for sport.

In my opinion Les, if you're killing an animal, you should be using all you can. If you slaughter cattle, you should be using the skins for leather, etc. So using skins isn't draconian and/or foul to me unless it's the sole purpose, and you're leaving behind a carcass to rot once you're through. If you don't like to eat seal meat, fair enough, but plenty of butchers pay good money for biologically appropriate dog food.

But the seal hunt isn't for dog food. It's for fur alone.

Hey Unf.... Are you one of those folks who lobbied to kill Ontario's spring bear hunt?

They're bears. They're black. Ergo ... black bear. We try not to know them on first name basis as we shoo them out of sheds, porches, bird feeders, garbage bins etc. because the berry crop isn't big enough to sustain their unhunted (and unafraid) numbers. They have become a nuisance.

like i said wolf, they hate on impulse, it took him all day to come up with something to say lol...

Black bears in general are of the least concern. even in BC when i was out by Merrit they were a dime a dozen along with the mule deer....

I go to vanderhoof, and terrace and its grizzly bear central

I go to the outskirts of town in Ontario here and its loaded with black bears....

There are always going to be spirit bears because its a recessive gene in there population pool...

Just like there will always be blonde hair

Bears that are shot at Exploration Camps up North, are quartered and given to the local tribe....

Us Canadians that follow the laws are doing our best to keep the industry sustainable

Build homes into the mountain and you're going to have wildlife. Leave your garbage in plastic bins outside and you're going to attract wildlife. Have bird feeders, fish ponds and leave your pet food outside and you're going to have wildlife.

Don't like wildlife? Live in the city and the country side alone.

Dude your making it sound as if hunters are intentionaly trying weeding out the spirit bear recessive gene......

Ever hear of Blue pickeral in the great lakes? Well people say they are extinct, but people still catch blue pickeral, and that are born in populations of yellow/green pickeral.... I dont know what to say, for a heavily pressured fish it has managed to stay diverse?

You guys live in a major city dont you.........

Some of us cant help were we are born? Now your attacking our lifstyles?

My mistake and my apologies. I didn't realize you were unable to move. I didn't realize you were one of those people who would rather see the environment trampled and destroyed and animals killed needlessly so you can have a few dollars in your pocket. I hope you have your money in a high yield interest savings account. Cause when the fish dry up, and there's nothing to shoot and kill near you...you're gonna need it.

ITs like people forget there are hunting seasons, draws to earn big game animal tages, slot limits for fish....

Stuff is managed

Jeez its like you guys think im out there gunning animals down, everyday....

And like i said you guys are attacking the individuals...

You know what at the next election, forget health care, public transportation, whatever else... Fight for more money for the ministry of natural resources, fight to have them well funded... because there not funded and if you emo's would get off your high horses and start lobbying more during elections for more wildmanagment then yes things might work out the way you want it

Hunters, in the case of albino, spirit bear, genetic recessives etc, would be their own natural predators or selection processes. Loss of natural camouflage just makes them easier prey.

Nope, I never did but I can't say I wouldn't.
I guess you don't live down town Toronto then. :)
What you're saying though is that a dog is a dog, while I am trying to tell you that there are all sorts of breeds that encompass distinct groups under the heading black bear.

I'm sure conservation hunters know that.
As for being a nuisance, you can't move into an animals territory and then accuse it of being a nuisance. Go back to what Gilbert said about being a parasite verses symbiotic relationship.

Nope. My original post mentioning the Kermodes was to point out that SOME black bear aren't a dime a dozen.

There will always be spirit bears unless they are specifically hunted because they are white.... If the spirit bears were born in the first place you can count on there being the recessive gene in black coloured bears that will propagate the gene furthur
