There calling for a blizzard overnight. Quite unusual for us.

Very unusual. Hope all of those out in the rural areas get through it ok, We used to be very rural out in Black creek, far off the highway, and had lots of hardships during all the storms, glad to be free of that now.

Is it snowing hard there now? Not sure where you are, Nanaimo?
Actually it quit about the time I was finished writing that. Yes I am and I just read the weather report. You might still be on for those crocuses! Supposed to be sunny tomorrow and oddly enough - it's warming up to about 1 or 2 degrees (so they say). We just have a skiff added to the mounds that are here. They were saying rain in the next couple of days but that seems to be cancelled now too. Hurrah!

I have family from there. Where are you?

Well, it's reached the interior now, 3 AM and snowing in Grand Forks, however it has warmed up a couple of degrees to about minus 21C

We have a plastic table and chairs on our back deck and right now there is about eighteen inches of accumulated snow on the table. The chairs are unidentifiable blobs, as is the barbeque. On the deck itself, the snow is a bit deeper because the snow was swept off the table after the first snowfall. All I can say is that I've lived here, and on Gabriola Island, for the last 11 years and this is not our normal weather.

Starting to look more and more like the winter of '49-'50.

The weatherman is saying more snow, below zero temperatures, and 50 - 70km winds. That sounds almost like a blizzard....:smile:

The way scientists have taken this weather into the equation for global warming makes me wonder even more so if they aren't just completely mistaken & we are actually entering a mini ice age instead.

I think you are a little closer to the truth than the scientists.

Don't get too optimistic, what you don't need is a pile of rain ahead of a PIneapple Express.

Juan....

Big snow for the kids to play in is not the worst of winter weather situations.

Right now we're not getting snow. Instead we're hovering around the -30 mark, last night it dropped all the way to -35. Edmonton (and my kids) would gladly switch with you if you like.

So you're an Edmontonite, Karrie (you're welcome to the weather.......LOL) My son worked for years up around High Level and Zama- gets a little nippy at times up there.
