sunny and bright here today, snow on the ground, just put a bunch of bird seed
out on the patio, took about 10 minutes and lots of birds are helping themselves.
I think more snow in the forecast.

Don't forget our little feathered friends everyone.

I hope the hummingbirds went south. We had them here until just before the snow. Our hummingbird feeders both froze and broke. We keep the other feeders full all year round.

Same thing here up in the lovely Boundary country, we had another inch of snow last night as temp. warmed up to a balmy minus 10 this morning- but minus 10 here feels like +5C on the coast.

#juan, check this out....it might make you appresiate the snow you're getting...

Nanaimo 2wk forcast of daily HIGH Temperatures. Notice how
the line actually stays on the Graph...

Regina 2wk forcast of daily HIGH Temperatures. Now add a
Prairie wind to that and....my Dogs will get a couple days of
some pretty short "walks." X'mas will be nice though...

Yeah, but Regina's cold is a dry cold so you don't notice it.

Guess we'll have to prepare to receive another dump of snow, starting sometime
later today.
Shortest day of the year sometime today/tomorrow, then the days get longer,
spring just around the corner, i'm visualizing those crocuses popping up in about
6 weeks.;-)

Glad to read your optimism, talloola, minus 26.5C here this morning- coldest day in four or five years.

I'll match your temperature and raise the pot with a 40km/h NW wind and another
couple cm of snow. This snow, in this wind, at this temperature, can polish your nose
right off your face. It's a dry cold, but you'd notice this....:lol::lol:

I'll pass, Ron, I'd never dream of matching Saskatchewan temperatures and I'm probably glad we can't. Our annual average lowest temp. here is about minus 22C.

#juan....found this video: Funny Dogs

Made me think of you and your back yard...It's cute.

Thanks Ron
That is absolutely hillarious. That dog in the powder snow, is like a dolphin in water. I wouldn't have thought a short haired dog like the Dalmatian would be that happy in deep snow...

Let's see now - what was it they said for today? I heard that the Firemen were on the TV news telling everyone to stock up as the storm we have arriving as I type these words is supposed to keep some folks holed up for about 3 days. Some people seemed to think we were getting 5 feet of snow! Others said 5 - 10 cm. People were buying enough groceries to keep them for the winter I think. I guess if we have to go more than a few days I'll have to think about getting some groceries! That would mean walking around the store after work and all. The Bay is open til 11:00 PM and Junkmart is open 24 hours a day. Was at the Bay about 7:30 - not many people braving the "weather". Hope I don't have to get up and shovel snow before I leave for work. My "shoveller" went to Vancouver to the Canucks game tonight. Maybe he'll get home in time to shovel before I must "brave the elements" and go to work.
Talloola, I think you will have to wait a tad longer for the crocus. Hope it's not so wet they rot in the ground this year. My palm tree is so heavy with snow it looks ready to snap!!!

According to the weatherman we are going to get another ten to fifteen cm of snow overnight and another ten cms tomorrow. It is snowing pretty hard right now and the weatherman hasn't been wrong in a week and a half. I'm almost getting use to shoveling the damn driveway......;-)

Is it snowing hard there now? Not sure where you are, Nanaimo?
