Finally Risus, the truth is out. You are a racist or more specifically a language racist.
If B.A. (Boss Avro) had a hot tip for making some money in Quebec, damn the language he would find a way.
Another point: Don't try to post an English only sign anywhere in the Ottawa River Valley---either on the Ontario or Quebec side of the river.
You know not of what you speak.
I feel sorry for you.
Scratch, don't feel sorry for me, feel sorry for yourself. And Yes I know what I am talking about. There are no bilingual signs in quebec, french only... When was the last time you were there????

Three days ago, and why should I care. I will not see another extinction go by the boards. You were born there, were you not?
All you have is nothing but negative things to say about Quebec.
Tell us the real reason why you have a problem with la belle province!

Risus, now how is that possible, even if the English had send the French back don’t you think that the French would have found another way to come back to the land of prosperity? You would do the same thing, why it is exclusive for the British to have been the only ones here; your thought is in the theater of colonialism. On the 21st Century colonialism has died........
The Brits when they negotiated back in the time of Confederation the correct mechanics in dealing with a correct and fair way in harmonizing bilingualism, they didn’t, and that came back to haunt them.
How is it that I can’t see past my nose when in fact I have traveled to many places around the world?

Soc, you should learn a bit about the history of the country you live in. We are not talking about the time of confederation, more like 1759.... When you learn about Canadian history, then we can discuss it....

So the English won....but returned the land to the French. Why in your infinite wisdom on Quebec, would they do that?

Intellectual-- an academic gossiper , no substance .

Hey China good to see you around, I bet not only in this life time but in thousands of years you would never ever have the passionate rally behind you that Trudeau had accomplished, landslide victories with a RED ROSE on the lapel. If you are a European as you previously have stated, you are saying he had no substance? Trudeau paved the way for you to have civil liberties that you were deprived in your home land where ever that may be.......and this is why you came to Canada or with your family like all of us did.... A gossiper? Think again........

Trudeau is on record telling reporters that they had no business in peoples bedrooms, how is that make him a gossiper?...........your brain will explode if you were to put it to such demanding task being the PM of Canada and having to deal with the FLQ crisis...........dead cabinet ministers in the trunk of their cars........
Where your substance................talk is is cheap.....................................
You want to camper your self to Trudeau, The reason why your family or your self alone came to Canada was the same for millions of people who chose to immigrate to a better life, which life includes CANADA PENSION PLAN – UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE – CANADA STUDENT LOANS. All and more for a better life, keep in mind that the three I mentioned above were put in place by a Great Liberal Prime Minister the great honorable Lester B. Pearson……………
Also keep in mind that Pier Eliot Trudeau made it easy for you and your family to immigrate to Canada…..Talk which is motivated by an unsubstantiated bias is cheap…………………..We are all friends here……

And that is a large part of the problem in this country today.....
The large part is the fact that you are here?
BTW-----I am still waiting for the list off ALL the Headquarters/Head Offices that left Quebec----did it slip your mind?

And for your further edification Risus, I am disabled (or whatever you choose to call it) and any newsletter that I receive from QPP (regie des rentes du quebec) is totally in English and a lot better English than I have seen on Ontario documents.
Every year I am required to prove my citizenship and place of residence to QPP and that as well is all in English. And it is to prove my Canadian citizenship.

I am waiting on you.
Sincere Regards,

Why is that a problem?

Do you think that in a generation 100 years you would be able to see the same population growth as if you would see if you had a strict quota on the number of imigrants that comes in?

Immigration Risus can be good for both the new comer as well the Country the new comer has come to. Plus the fact that immigration is not only on people who have limited finances, it opens the door as you know to foreign investment. Canada is a friendly country and to provide good ambassadorship of friendship to new comers is a promoting fundamental very key in Canada's growth, so, how can you support the thought that Trudeau did bad by promoting immigration........that thought of a strict and controlled immigration policy is counter productive to progress as well a serious violation on civil liberties, you like you r civil liberties why shouldn’t the next guy?, as long as he is not stealing your vote....The Liberals have done many things that have benefited Canada.....................Just remember what the liberals did do and you benefited from it, such as UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE - CANADA PENSION - CANADA STUDENT LOANS, three key instruments that helps promote a healthy educated country, that was put in place by a great Liberal Lester B Pearson.................Trudeau civil liberties and immigration, key fundamentals in a strong country...............what's wrong with that?

You all have a great weekend................

Part of the problem is Canadians born here, lived here and paid taxes all their lives, need social assistance from the government and they can't get it. Immigrants come here, some illegally, some criminals, with their hands out get paid $$$$s and have done, and will do, nothing for the country. Blame your idiot buddy trudeau for that.... Then they expect us to change our ways of lives to suit them.

Yes there is a lot wrong with that, if you can't figure that out, I feel sorry for you....

Well said S.G.

Risus since you seem to be at a loss on everything, I'll clue you in:

Head Offices: Bell (BCE)
Sunlife
Weston
IMASCO
BMO
RBC
RONA
Giant Tiger
PJC
CN
CP
BOMBARDIER
Corbeil
MOLSON
Seagram"s
BAYER Pharmaceuticals
I could go on....but out of curiosity in the last 18 months MicroSoft and TELUS have invested heavily in Quebec. Obviously no problem there.
But I still don't have the list of head offices that left Quebec.

Increased immigration is an issue I am in favour of, i just don't like the lies being told them before they arrive on our doorstop. It reeks of the times when the railways were telling Europeans that crops practically grew by themselves on the prairies.

Why is that a problem?

................Trudeau civil liberties and immigration, key fundamentals in a strong country...............what's wrong with that?

You all have a great weekend................

Man, the Trudeau lovers need to read Peter Worthington's book Looking for Trouble: A Journalist's Life.....and then Some.

Civil Rights??? Trudeau???? You must be kidding. This is a guy that engaged in acts of tyranny and despotism that would make George W. Bush blush.......

First of all, he declared martial law and had hundreds (I believe the number was 700) jailed for months without charge or trial. Suspended all civil liberties.......that in response to three kidnappings, no deaths. (the only murder happened after the enactment of the War Measures Act, in fact it was in response to the Act being declared)

George W. didn't do that after the loss of 3,000 lives on 9-11.

Trudeau began the centralization of power in the PMs office, expressing his distain for Parliament by calling MPs "those nobodies:. He also ruled without reference to Parliament, using Order in Council to bypass democratic tradition...........now become the norm in Canada, started by Trudeau. (OiC existed as an "emergency" measure only.....until PET)

Trudeau tried to pass the Emergency Planning Order "authorizing the establishment of internment camps for civilians and imposing censorship and taking control of all media outlets in the event of a national emergency of the government's definition" (from Worthington's book)

Worthington was at the other end of a personal vendetta by this prick Trudeau, because the Toronto Sun newspaper of which Worthington was editor, was a thorn in the side of the Liberal gov't.

Worthington was charged under the Official Secrets Act, only four charges have ever been made under that Act..........ONLY the PM or the Minister of Justice can initiate charges under the Act......Worthington had published pieces of a document classified "top secret".......but as the judge noted when he threw the case out, the document had been circulated to no less than 67 bodies in the USA, Australia and elsewhere in the previous two years, so could hardly be considered "secret", but waas, in essence, a public document.

"The judge also implied that there was a certain vindictiveness or political motivation in the government's suit."

The document in question showed the Liberal gov't was basically ignoring espionage performed in canada by the USSR.

Embarassing, to say the least.

A defender of Civil Rights? Trudeau??????

Hardly.
