Turkish warships will escort any Turkish aid vessels to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said in remarks broadcast on Al Jazeera television on Thursday.

This could have more to do with the Turkish sailors that just happened to die in an explosion in port that same night. Turkish commandos are on record as saying they would have opened fire sooner.
Next time they better bring more forces as the Turkish Navy will not be so easily won over and they will seriously shoot to kill.

What forum, the link to that article is already posted in this thread and you sound more excited. A major regional war over a few boxes of food, that the Israeli way I have no doubt.
It would be an end og NATO so that has some good points to it seeing as they have turned into common bandits anyway. How many months and they still haven't taken Libya let alone Afghanistan and Iraq after almost 10 years? I would suspect Turkey has more friends than Israel.
Egypt, Syria and Jordan had their kick at the cat; don't begrudge Turkey their opportunity to fail as well.

International law says a blockade can be bypassed if the cargo ships are escorted by naval vessels of a neutral country........who ensure no contraband is aboard.

Israel could just drop the blockade..........and invade and re-occupy Gaza if things get hot. Despite how the useful idiots would scream and cry and go on, this is probably the most sensible option. Better war with Gaza than war with Turkey. Once again, the Palestinians would pay with much blood for the sick political games of the Jew-haters.
One could hope the Turkish people come to their senses and return to the sane policies of Attaturk, and reject the growing Islamist wave.....and throw out the bunch of idiots now running the place.

Turkey is a neutral Nation, the US is not as they have defense agreements with Israel. Nobody has such an agreement with Gaza or the West Bank. Statehood for Gaza and the West Bank could open up all sort of court cases at the ICC, one being the war crime of moving Israeli citizens into the 'occupied territories' of West Bank and the Golan Heights and parts of Jerusalem.
Surely you would welcome such moves on the parts of the Palestinians as taking people top court and suing their asses off is part of the Western way of doing things.

Turkey only tolerates Israel because the United States stand with Israel. Would the United States defend Israel against a Muslim attack that included Turkey. I would not bet against it.
Are you suggesting a flotilla of humanitarian goods (verified by Turkish military) is part of a Muslim attack?
Venezuela do? Turkey just served as a security member for the UN, do you have some proof they are crooked? But I do agree that the cargo headed for Gaza City should be assembled at a neutral port before being sent to Gaza, say Cyprus as it is close so the ships could be monitored closely and the seals examined on arrival in Gaza. That being said Israel would have to submit a full list of 'banned items' and the UN would have to agree with the list. Pencils and coloring book would have to be taken off the current list of some 3,000 items. (or whatever the actual number is)
