I don't think the US ambassador to Canada has much impact on any Canadians' lives. Can you name the last three people who held the post, without looking it up?

Of course the Ambassador has an impact on Canadians, he gets to talk directly to the Pres about Canada and trade issues etc. 80% of Canada's trade goes to the US.

If you think that the role of the US Ambassador is to interfere in Canadian politics or counter Canadian political choices, think again. The US Ambassador has no business interefering with useless Liberal Prime Ministers or any other variety of Prime Minister, ever ... full stop. If that is how they see their role, the Ambassador should be sent packing back to Washington. That is not the role of any Ambassador anywhere and it certainly is not acceptible in this country.
