I agree.. There is really no call for it.. We teach our children to behave yet when behind a keyboard act like animals..

Phew, good thing I don't have children.... I thought that related to me for a second there. :p

But not everybody resorts to name calling.

I only name call when someone does it to me, but always balanced and explained why I did.

Of course, when it comes to condescending communication, well that's a whole other situation, but that's not really the topic..... or is it? Hmmmmmm :-?

ahh this will warm Andem's heart. He's the site owner, and he puts a ton of effort into making this forum a nice little playground for the likes of us.

I haven't noticed a whole ton of difference in the formatting in the reply window myself - what in particular are you referring to?

Hello Zan.. Hopefully I can explain this easy..

All the upper features of formatting ( Font Colour ) and those below where bolding ( Bold, Italic, Underline and Hyperlink) appears.. As well i could not find the Smiles ( Emoticons ) not that I use them often.. This could have changed since I last used it a few days ago..

hmmm that is interesting... they're all there right now, and as far as I know, they were there right from the get go.

Why don't you give it another try and see if it's different for you now?

Oh, it's worse then that for me.... I mean, sure I imagine you guys are all great and everything, I really don't know much more then your avatar and wish to keep it like that until perhaps someone dies and then it'd be interesting..... but until that time......

If the forums ever just Whoosh, vanished or got toasted some how...... all of these posts, all of what you have read and written yourselves...... all those hours....... days, years...... Gone.

All wiped.... think about that for a second.... doesn't that concept sorta urk ya?

It's no longer written in the optic fibres of time.

It'd sorta be like your house burning down..... all your stuff gone and you just got memories left..... and you gotta start a new.

Kinda a crummy state to be in.

What was my point?

I don't like curly nipple hair.

Well Praxius, you would not have handled Canada.com very well.. Every so often and for a while it was almost daily a thread would be removed with all our posts due to one poster that was basically more then a troll..

Yeah I can see threads being locked or the Troll's posts being removed, but removing of threads completely? I can only see that being justified in very rare situations.... Yeah, i'd be pissed about that and think it pointless to go.

I mean you could have all kinds of good posts kicking around or something you may want to look up later, and then some butt clown comes along and links porn or slaps a big 2 girls 1 cup in HD on all those threads, and from my understanding, those threads would be wiped?

Well that don't be sitting well with this pirate..... yarrrrr. :angry3:

SirFrancis,

If you just reply by using the box at the bottom of the page, you don't get all the fun stuff. If you use the "Post Reply button at the bottom of the last post on the thread, you get all the smiley faces and stuff. Just figured that out myself because I had the same problem and I'm using FireFox too. :)

Throwing the baby out with the bath water is not really the way to go, IMHO. Thankfully, from what I have seen since I got here, entire threads have never gotten deleted due to one person's trolling. Some threads get moved to Wreck Beach or The Steel Cage, but that is so the thread can continue without being locked.

Unless it is spam of course.;-)

Good point, Cliffy. The one at the bottom is for a Quick Reply only. It's there if you just want to make a quick post before you have to go somewhere(I believe).

SirFrancis, if that is not the case, I do not believe that FireFox would be the issue either. Zan also uses Firefox and she has never mentioned this issue.

I hope it is something easily resolved for you.

:lol:;-):smile::p:blob8::cya:Yahoo!

How can I post pictures from my desktop without an url?

I did a Print Screen, Saved it as a POST.JPG ( with Paint Brush ) on my Desktop and then Uploaded it as an Attachment in the post..

PS Thanks for the catch on the difference in the windows between Quoting and just a regular Post on the advance Options..

Sir Joe:
Re: Canada.com
Wrote to the moderator today and simply received an auto-response directing me to contact another person as the moderator is away apparently. I hope he is only away and not gone - period. I only wrote to him asking that he post the reason why on Canada.com, 6:00 PM EST on Saturday, never arrived! It is my opinion that it never will. However, maybe he is away on an assignment as another friend has mentioned and is un-aware the forums are not fixed. Somehow I have my doubts. It is good to feel welcome here. Thanks to everyone.
PS to Shadow - Sorry you thought we got off on the wrong foot. I was not at all upset by the error. We all make mistakes.

Later - thanks.
