"President Obama has sent SWAT teams to oil wells to check them all out. As I mentioned earlier this just may have been done by a terrorist group of some kind to show why we should not drill. Has he done anything wrong yet? Not by my standards, from what I've heard all of our resources have been made available to get this well plugged up."

President Obama's first reaction was to send a team of lawyers/legal experts, not anything to help.

Anyone find it strange that this explosion happened shortly after the President OK'd off-shore drilling? Terrorists caused the blast? How about environmentalists, who are also against nuclear power plants, using coal, creating hydro-electric plants and oppose even wind mills?

US Orders Blackout Over North Korean Torpedoing Of Gulf Of Mexico Oil Rig

A grim report circulating in the Kremlin today written by Russia’s Northern Fleet is reporting that the United States has ordered a complete media blackout over North Korea’s torpedoing of the giant Deepwater Horizon oil platform owned by the World’s largest offshore drilling contractor Transocean that was built and financed by South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., that has caused great loss of life, untold billions in economic damage to the South Korean economy, and an environmental catastrophe to the United States.
Most important to understand about this latest attack by North Korea against its South Korean enemy is that under the existing “laws of war” it was a permissible action as they remain in a state of war against each other due to South Korea’s refusal to sign the 1953 Armistice ending the Korean War.
To the attack itself, these reports continue, the North Korean “cargo vessel” Dai Hong Dan believed to be staffed by 17th Sniper Corps “suicide” troops left Cuba’s Empresa Terminales Mambisas de La Habana (Port of Havana) on April 18th whereupon it “severely deviated” from its intended course for Venezuela’s Puerto Cabello bringing it to within 209 kilometers (130 miles) of the Deepwater Horizon oil platform which was located 80 kilometers (50 miles) off the coast of the US State of Louisiana where it launched an SSC Sang-o Class Mini Submarine (Yugo class) estimated to have an operational range of 321 kilometers (200 miles).
On the night of April 20th the North Korean Mini Submarine manned by these “suicidal” 17th Sniper Corps soldiers attacked the Deepwater Horizon with what are believed to be 2 incendiary torpedoes causing a massive explosion and resulting in 11 workers on this giant oil rig being killed outright. Barely 48 hours later, on April 22nd , this North Korean Mini Submarine committed its final atrocity by exploding itself directly beneath the Deepwater Horizon causing this $1 Billion oil rig to sink beneath the seas and marking 2010’s celebration of Earth Day with one of the largest environmental catastrophes our World has ever seen.

This “impossible dilemma” facing Obama is indeed real as the decision he is faced with is either to allow the continuation of this massive oil leak catastrophe to continue for months, or immediately stop it by the only known and proven means possible, the detonation of a thermonuclear device.

Yeah.... Forewarned decades ago, yet the only admin you see fit to blame is the one that was in office when katrina hit.

You have got to be the most stubborn SOB I have ever come across.

The only reason I'm even talking about the Bush officials is because another poster brought up the comparison ...

Try to keep it in perspective. There is plenty of blame to go around for that mess, it's just that the levees designed to keep water out of New Orleans is the critical failure which lead to the destruction, and only the Federal Government has that responsibility.

Yeah... I guess that you stated that as a point of interest; you making idle conversation and what not.

I didn't start this topic. Another poster compared the two Presidents responses to the disasters. If you actually read what I was responding to in the first place you might have grasped that fact. But you're not that observant, apparently.

It's no different. Those levee's were in place long before Bush's admin was in power and the warnings existed way back then to.

So, how about you cite those warnings decades ago. I'm fine with all previous Presidents sharing in the blame, if they were warned. But that's not obvious to me that they were. It is to you apparently, so how about you provide evidence for your claim.

I'd have thought the better people to send would be a SEAL team to inspect for cause and stuff like that.

Can SWAT people even swim? lol

Do you have a link or something supporting this comment?

lol You listen to Limbaugh too much. "It must have been those commie, fascist, eco, Democrat, Liberal, tree-hugging, pro-choice, mixed-marriage, gay marriage dingbats that did it".

As with any conspiracy theory there are a lot of insane ramblings, hey look they are still talking about 9/11.

Just thought I would throw N. Korea into the mix. No matter what happened, this has the potential to be far worse that anything man has done so far.

Now the vultures begin to flock.
Lawyers flock to Gulf Coast for oil spill lawsuits
MIAMI – Teams of lawyers from around the nation are mobilizing for a gargantuan legal battle over the massive Gulf Coast oil spill, filing multiple lawsuits in recent days that together could dwarf the half-billion dollars awarded in the Exxon Valdez disaster two decades ago.
If the oil slick fouls popular beaches, ruins fisheries and disrupts traffic on the Mississippi River, attorneys say there could be hundreds of thousands of plaintiffs from Texas to Florida seeking monetary damages from oil producer BP PLC and other companies that ran the Transocean Deepwater Horizon drilling rig.
At least 26 federal lawsuits have been filed since the spill by commercial fishermen, charter boat captains, resort management companies and individual property owners in Louisiana, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. Many of the suits claim the disaster was caused when workers for oil services contractor Halliburton Inc. improperly capped a well — a process known as cementing. Halliburton denied that. Investigators are still looking into the cause.

Yep, there could be a lot of money to be made, but probably not by anyone doing anything useful. Hope B.P. was carrying a few $ insurance or there's going to be some disappointed people.
