It's the richest, most powerful nation in the history of human civilization by a huge margin, whose current leaders have no concept of what any of that means in terms of duty and responsibility.

Is a vast and exciting nation founded on masonic priciples , whose founding fathers would be horrified if they saw it today.

I quite appreciate their meaning; however, I question the "American concept of freedom" as being too absolute.

U2 - The Hands That Built America Lyrics

Oh my love, it's a long way we've come
From the freckled hills, to the steel and glass canyons
From the stony fields, to hanging steel from the sky
From digging in our pockets for a reason not to say goodbye

These are the hands that built America
(Russian, Sioux, Dutch, Hindu)
Oh, oh oh, America / Hand
(Polish, Irish, German, Italian)

Last saw your face in a watercolour sky
As sea birds argue, a long goodbye
I took your kiss, on the spray of the new land star
You gotta live with your dreams, don't make them so hard

And these are the hands, that built America
(The Irish, the Blacks, the Chinese, the Jews)
Ah, ah ah, America / Hand
(Korean, Hispanic, Muslim, Indian)

Of all of the promises, is this one we could keep
Of all of the dreams, is this one still out of reach

Halle, ole
(Dream-oh-yeah)
(Oh oh-dream, oh love)

It's early fall, there's a cloud on the New York skyline
Innocence, dragged across a yellow line

These are the hands that built America
These are the hands that built America
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah America

Hardly.

I wouldn't call hiding behind the amendments of one's Constitution, in spreading hatred and disarray, to be "brave." But you know, to each their own.

Subject to, of course, Sections 1 and 33 of the Constitution Act, 1982.

No, no one is insulting me (or at least I'm not taking it that way).

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand Liberals aren't about freedom and bravery...there about banning books and stealing your money.

America says "you are free"....Liberals say "from cradle to grave".

Putting the two in separate statements seems to imply that anyone who carries a "liberal"-type philosophy is inherently anti-American?

I take it that, in your estimation, Liberals are all bad and the U.S. is all good. Would that about sum it up?

Just out of curiosity, what books did the Liberals ban?[/quote]

When Liberals in Canada make it a point to run a campaign on anti-Americanism, and Liberal supporters lap it up....what other conclusions are people to draw?

Let's not pretend Liberals understand "free" outside of double speak concepts like "free healthcare", "free day-care".

Jay, I support the Liberal Party of Canada — and on the same breath, I also (prepare to gasp) support the principles of a free and democratic society. However, more than I would ever support the too-often-mob-mentality idea of "liberty, freedom and the pursuit of happiness" I prefer the idea of "peace, order and good government." But that's a difference between the United States and Canada — not the United States and liberalism.

Well as we all know, the phrase "banning books" or "book burner" is an implication that those people do not support free speech. We know Liberals don't support free speech as indicated by the laws they enact. Let's not forget the deportation of an individual because he didn't agree with the official version of history, which I might add, speaks volumes about who these book banners are and how they are inherently dangerous to freedom loving people everywhere.
