How come none of them want to know anything about the history of the bible and why it was put together in the form it is?

If God is a loving and caring God full of understanding and acceptance how come he
allows so many people who claim to represent him to be narrow minded, morally
bankrupt and, completely off Gods message of compassion and forgiveness? I think
that is somewhat a good starting point.
And no, I am not anti church or God, I just here all the evangelical whack jobs who
completely distort the message and spew all manner of foul views as it were and
then they have the Gaul to say God loves us. Well they claim to represent God and
yet their image distorts everything God stand for.

I would like to hear the sirens from the firetrucks because it was burning to the ground to be replaced with somthing useful like a 7-11 or a Chinese restaurant.

Chines restaurants are more useful than Catholic Charities? You have pretty goofy priorities.

Probably the same question I usually wonder when I'm in a church - 'Are you (ie, the minister) a decent human being with compassion, or are you a pedantic hypocritical moron?'

Most 'born again' ministers, and about half of the Catholic priests that I've met fall into the pedantic hypocritical moron category.

Many already know why the Bible was put together the way it is. After the death of
Christ, there were four main leaders fighting for political control of the church as we
know it. They allowed the writing of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John and excluded
everyone Else's writings. The reason they often conflict with one another is merely
patch work to keep the church together.
Some say, Timothy for example was quite left wing, I believe they call them something
like Messianic Jews, at that time. See Christ didn't regard himself as a Christian he in his
mind was a Jew who wanted a reformation of sorts The religion was taken over by the
non Jews and sent off in another direction.
The Bible has been written a number of times. one of the Roman Emperors converted
to use Christ as the inspiration for victory in war. No doubt there were others who
found ways to profit. Pope Gregory takes the cake though. He turn Christs reformed
sinner girlfriend and turned her into a prostitute forgiven by Christ.
Before Gregory she apparently was not referred to as a prostitute.
He also sold shares that automatically got you a pass to Heaven. That money was
used to build the Vatican. Hmmm sound like the Mafia was already forming doesn't it.

If you walked into a Christian church off the street, what question would you like to hear answered?
There are only two circumstances under which I'll enter a Christian church, to attend a ceremony, like a wedding, funeral, baptism, and so forth, involving people I care about who want me to be there--not the sort of conditions under which a tactful person asks difficult questions--or to admire something about the architecture or artwork in it. I'd happily visit St. Peter's in Rome for that latter reason, for instance. And if the Pope happened by, I'd like an answer to the question Christopher Hitchens I think phrased best: why did heaven watch humanity struggling and suffering and dying for the better part of at least 100 millennia, possibly as many as 200 (not that it makes any real difference), and only then decide to intervene, by sending a message not to anyplace with a civilization that can read and write and has figured out something about how to think and spread a message, but to one of the most ignorant and least literate groups of people on the planet? Wothehell could the strategy have been, lets set this up so the message gets spread as slowly as possible with maximal chances of being corrupted?

If you claim to follow Yeshua the Nazarene, why are you not pacifists?

Then what about the sin of omission - Doing nothing while people die? And if you take action where do you begin and where does it stop?

I can't get good take-out from a catholic charity.

Not that their is much charity in the catholic church. They are the single richest organization in the world with assets that make the combined worth of Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Donald Trump and the Queen look paltry. If they were so damn charitable they would give all of it to charity. What the bell does the pope need a robe with 18 karat gold thread for in his million dollar apartment.

Usually you can tell by the name of the church, but the first question I would ask to confirm the church's legitimacy would be: "Is Jesus God?".

Jesus was a Jewish guy with a messianic complex.
