Well, A) you don't have winter there and that's when the hydro bills really get bad in Ontario. And B) If you lived in Ontario, you'd be charged $300 for using $75 worth of hydro a la the Global Adjustment Fee.
The problem is, there are numerous neighbourhoods with thousands of homes that were built utilizing electric heat in the early to mid '70s when electricity was cheap cheap cheap. Many of those neighourhoods are unable to convert to another source of heating and are stuck with exorbitant hydro bills. People are at risk of losing their homes, while some already have, just because the Ontario Liberals think there's nothing wrong with charging a 400% fee on hydro use. In the financial world that's called a usury fee and it's illegal. In Liberal la-la land, it's justified because we're "saving the planet".
Clearly the plan in Ontario to reduce emissions is to increase the rate of homelessness. Homeless people don't contribute very much to climate change.

Ever been to Phoenix in the summer. I bet they use more energy to cool their homes then we do to heat ours.

This isn't about who uses how much though, it's about how something as basic as a change of season is causing financial hardship to too many Ontarians for no good reason other than govt stupidity. A mistake the Wynned sock admits she made but is doing absolutely bugger all to correct. In fact, she's exacerbating it.
Like I said, it's the Global Adjustment Fee that's the problem. Who cares how much energy Phoenix uses overall? Look, when you use say, $200 worth of hydro in a month, it is not unreasonable to pay some taxes on it. What IS unreasonable is a 400% fee that cranks your bill up to $800.
If a person in Phoenix uses an additional $50/mo of hydro in the summer time, their bill goes up $50, plus the applicable taxes.
If a person in Ontario uses an additional $25/mo of hydro in winter time, their bill goes up $100.
Really? So just abandon their homes and start somewhere else with nothing?

Then there's delivery - all starting from some fictional office in Milton. If a taxi were to charge each individual customer the whole fare on a ride divided by five there would be charges laid. Not the rip-off government.
