No word on who alerted the media to this tards situation but here it is...........

A Clarksville man said that he quit his job last week in order to save his soul.

Walter Slonopas, 52, resigned as a maintenance worker at Contech Casting LLC in Clarksville after his W-2 tax form was stamped with the number 666.

The Bible calls 666 the “number of the beast,” and it’s often used as a symbol of the devil. Slonopas said that after getting the W-2, he could either go to work or go to hell.

“If you accept that number, you sell your soul to the devil,” he said.
This isn’t the first time that the Satanic number has caused Slonopas trouble at work.

During his first day on the job in April 2011, Slonopas was supposed to be assigned the number 668 to use when he clocked in. But the human resources department gave him the wrong number — 666 — instead.

Slonopas, who said he became a born-again Christian about 10 years ago, complained and was given a new number.

In July 2011, the company changed time clock systems, and once again Slonopas got 666. This time he quit. The company apologized and he returned to work a few days later.

The number 666 has caused problems for at least one other worker in the past. In 2011, a factory worker from Georgia named Billy Hyatt sued his former employer after he was fired for refusing to wear a sticker with 666 on it. The sticker referred to the number of accident-free days he’d had on the job.

Slonopas, though, said he has no interest in suing anyone. All he wants is for his former employer to give him a new W-2 without a Satanic number on it. Otherwise, he said, he can’t file his taxes.

He shakes his head when asked if he’d go back to work for Contech, even if the company gives him a new W-2. That would send the message that he sold out his faith for money.

“God is worth more than money,” he said.

His wife, Anna, said the couple will be fine. She said God will take care of them. They live frugally, and are currently house-sitting for their older son, who is in the military.

Poor guy, it's gotta be hard to live with that kind of paranoia, and I can't help but feel like someone's messing with him for it to keep cropping up at work like that.

But I gotta say, if something set off alarm bells in my head as being a 'sign', and kept cropping up over and over again like that at work, I don't know if I'd stick around either.

People make life decisions for weirder reasons.

I don't think this guy realizes there are people who would line up for that number.
Imagine being intimidated by a number? This guy should not get UI he quit his
job for no valid reason.

I'm with Karrie on this one, I feel badly for this guy. He isn't hurting anyone, he's not demanding anything without being very willing to give something up very significant up for it. And this repetitive happenstance of that particular number turning up seems to occur rather frequently for it to just be happenstance.

I wonder if someone who had a full blown phobia about the number 13 and had it showing up as frequently would get the "tard" treatment from you too. Somehow I kind of doubt it, I do think that would just fly right under your radar. Just because his troubles, as minor as they might be for any one of us, are entrenched in his personal religious beliefs doesn't make him "retarded". That was a really petty contribution to the article Tay. Really petty.

I guess so.

taytard should go jump from a 13th floor

I'm not going that far. It just struck me as a petty comment to make.

And I'm not known for keeping things that strike me any particular way to myself. I think it, I say it. Er, well, type it. It's my way. :)

Besides anyway he can't, 13th floor doesn't exist remember?

I'm in the I feel bad for the dude crowd. I don't think they are purposely screwing with him though. Sometimes chance things happen that are so bizarre that if we saw them occur in a movie we would think it ridiculous...but they still occur none the less. I think things will work out for okay for him in the long run.

At least, I hope they do.

The key number for my desk at work is 666. Actually it was 668 but my boss was paranoid about getting the number so I switched with her. I do not believe such a sale of souls would hold up in court as there is no contract and I received nothing for it.

Actually the oldest copies we have of Revelation give the number as 616, but no matter, I find this whole concept so absurd I cannot but make light of it. For instance:

666i, the BMW of the Beast
666 degrees, the correct temperature for roast Beast
80666, the Intel processor of the Beast
0.666, number of the Millibeast
$666, price of the Beast
$659.99, Wal-Mart price of the Beast

Anybody got some good ones?

I kind of remember hearing or reading or someone telling me that when the anti-Christ returned that it would be people's tattoo and that if you didn't have the tat you wouldn't get food unless you devoted yourself to him/her/it.

I just thought of that now...maybe it is some kind of mainstream thought or something, I don't know.

I do remember as kids we devoted a lot of time to mind screwing ourselves with fear over 666.
