American footballers will have an excuse if they are feeling a little spooked at this year's World Cup - their base for the tournament is haunted by a 19th century British redcoat.
The soldier, resplendent in his bright red uniform, has regularly been seen at Irene Country Lodge HQ in Gauteng in north eastern South Africa.
The USA's first opponents in this year's World Cup are England, on 12th June.

Redcoat ... British soldier died close to US camp
ENGLAND have extra team spirit on their side at this year's World Cup - the ghost of a redcoat soldier haunting our American rivals.
The long-dead British warrior will give the Yanks the World Cup Willies when he appears at their base camp.
He has haunted the area around the US team's luxurious Irene Country Lodge HQ in Gauteng since being killed in action nearby in the 19th century. Dozens of people have spotted him. One local said: "He has been seen late at night and is clearly unsettled by something.
"Back then troops demonstrated a fierce loyalty for their country - so there's no doubt he will be a big England fan."
England's first game - and one of their toughest qualifiers - is against the USA in Rustenburg on June 12.
