As long as the golf clubs use tons of water to keep the golf courses beautiful and green, I'm not going to worry about a few gallons a neighbor might use to keep things a little greener, My own lawn is beyond repair untill Spring. I have about half an acre of "shredded wheat" that will have to be completely re-seeded.

Should we put "landlocked lakes" back into context and translate?

I know you mean't lakes on the mainland rather than the island.

Why not just say you mean't lakes on the mainland?

It'll come back.

No!

Research studies revealed overall temperature of urban areas may be as much as 9 to 12°F (5 to 7 °C) warmer than that of nearby rural areas.

Through the cooling process of transpiration, turfgrasses dissipate high levels of radiant heat in urban areas.

Maximum daily canopy temperatures of a green, growing Cynodon turf (Bermuda grass) was found to be 38°F (21 °C) cooler than a brown dormant turf and 70°F (39 °C) cooler than a synthetic surface (Table 1; Beard and Johns, 1985).

The transpirational cooling effect of green turfs and landscapes can save energy by reductions in the energy input required for interior mechanical cooling of adjacent homes and buildings (Johns and Beard, 1985).

Running AC lowers reservoir levels more than watering would.

I wouldn't think there was enough greenspace on lawns to counter the cement and pavement. I would question the study myself.

Beaver and Elk lakes, Glen Lake, Prospect lake are all lakes around victoria that require coliform counts and people are often advised to NOT swim in them. I grew up on the pennisula. We swam in the ocean too. Most of the lakes that were an easy distance were regularily tested for coliform.

there are so many rivers from the Nanaimo area up and past Campbell river, that any lakes, which there are
many will all be connected in some way with a river or the glacier, very clean some very pristine.

well it seems that they decide that companies who make their living using water, can still do that,
although the golf courses, at least one that I know of, have cut back considerably on the fairways,
but don't have to on the greens, and I agree with that, the green have to be
cared for. car wash companies can still stay open, although they have a limit
on how many gallons for each wash, water trucks can still deliver, etc.

car lots can still wash all of their own vehicles, I had a checkup on my fairly
new truck, then received a complimentary truck wash, the only time its been
washed since stage 3 went into affect.

the yardworks people who go around looking after many lawns for people don't have any work, but I see that
a couple of our neighbours yards still get mowed by a yard company, I don't know what they are mowing,
but they are going through the motions. lol

your yard shouldn't have to reseeded, lawns just go dormant, will come back in
the fall, and if we get a chance to water by the end of September, then we can
help them along.

I sure would rat out my neighbor.

I haven't watered my lawn for over 20 years. I take the fact very seriously that, water is going to (actually is now) be the next gold. It doesn't bother me that I look outside that I see brown. Too soon we will have other countries wanting to buy large amounts of our water or maybe the word that I want is, take.
