It's not about shade. Transpiration is what lowers temperatures.

Are you concerned at all that any detergents and such in the grey water might adversely effect your plants?

I use to use our fish waste water and the plants loved it. Our fish died and we haven't had the tank running for months.

I'm tempted to get some more fish just so I can have the water for the garden.

Our backyard has several trees and shrubs. due to some of the run off from our rock garden most of the grass hasn't gone brown in our back yard. It also helps keep our down stairs cool.
Plants love gray water. That is what fish tank water is.

Yeah, we all know that a car sitting in the shade has the same surface temperature it has while sitting in the sun.

I must be hallucinating when I can feel a difference in temperature just walking out of the sunshine into a shaded area.

Unfreakinreal.

Great reasoning. You car doesn't transpire does it genius?

It is why people sweat to keep from overheating.
Transpiration is not the ONLY reason, is what I am saying, genius. Whether you like it or not, shade also does play a role in keeping temperatures down.

Cute backpedaling. Grass is what shades soil to keep it 21C cooler than a dead lawn.

Shade doesn't cool anything. Transpiration/evaporation does. Air temperature is the same in or out of the shade.

We're you raised in a science restricting Religious family or town?

You do know that shade is the interruption of radiation from the sun, right? lmao

Um, ever wonder why the dark side of the moon is a lot colder than the sunny side? Transpiration? Air temperature?

Radiative or ambient?

Ever heard of ambient? Air is the same under a tree or in the sun.

It must be a religious thing eh?

holy crap

If it wasn't for the sun's radiation, there'd be no heat in the shade or anywhere else, kind of like on the dark side of the moon where there is no air to be supportive of anambient temperature.

I would rather out my neighbour if I caught them turning their minivan into a fertilizer bomb. There is not much else that would prompt me to rat out a neighbour.

.

this grey water I used had a small amount of dishwashing det. (natural harmless type), so wasn't worried,
but yes, I would be concerned about 'some' detergents for sure.
