Would P.E. Trudeau be proud of his son?

Were you caught jerking off in the closet when you were a teen? Yes or no.
No.

See, that's too limiting a question. All you know now is that I was not caught jerking off in "the" closet as a teen.

You don't know if I was caught jerking off.

You don't know if it ever happened when I was in my 20s, or 30s, or 40s.

You don't know if I was ever caught jerking off in a closet. Because you used the definite article but didn't define the term, you left it to me to define. Ergo, all you know is that there is one, specific closet somewhere in the world (you don't know which one) in which I was not caught jerking off over a ten-year (or seven-year) period.

I'm sure you'll say you don't care, but I'd point out that you cared enough to ask the question.

You think like many, in that you do not care if Canada has good or bad laws.

We just got rid of one of the worst in terms of the harm done to our society and children yet are too self-centred to celebrate Canada ridding itself of a bad law.

Good moral and intelligent citizen you are not.

So a joint on one lip, a cigarette on the other. And your hands full of Canadian wine would make you the ultimate moral and intelligent citizen? Lol

Sometimes a law is just a law. The new Marianas laws are potentially no better or no worse than other laws for alcohol and tobacco so forgive me if I done praise or condemn them.

Check the stats.

Either one, alcohol or tobacco, do more damage and kills more Canadians than all the other psychotropic drugs put together.

If you cannot praise the least harmful drug on the drug menu then you are not doing the intelligent thing.

If pot smoking had replaced tobacco smoking just in Ontario, never mind the whole country, about 40,000 people a year would not have gotten lung cancer and died.

A good analogy would be that Canadians have been eating shit and throwing away the steaks for a long time now.

Trudeau is serving steak, not shit.

If he would have had more balls, he would have legalized all psychotropic drugs as recommended by our great LeDain Royal Commission on drugs, which is the best research in the world.

Not that the less informed Canadians know it.

Only the uninformed will not know that legalization reduces drug use overall.

Have you heard of Google?

Smoking a dried out dog turd is the least harmful. I believe you are moral enough and intelligent enough to praise the laws that don't make it illegal.

If it is moral and intelligent then why do you feel a need to reduce its usage?

You have to do something about not caring about the lives of Canadians or the injustice that has harmed so many of us.

Regards
DL.

Cleary you did not have to wait until it was legal before reducing your usage

I do not.

My desire is to reduce the use of the harmful drugs, not increase pot use, but if that is what it takes then I would certainly advise Canadians to smoke pot instead of drinking or using tobacco. That is the intelligent thing to do.

That thinking was also pushed by our LeDain royal commission.

They called it, --- intelligent use of freedom of choice.

Millions of Canadian lives would have been saved if we had not been so stupid, in terms of law, in the past.

I am sure he would, but not for the reasons stated in the op. Perhaps, a comparison between the two would have been better. There are plenty of haters when it comes to the senior Trudeau and then there are those that simply oppose their views.

Example, I had a hate on for Jack Layton, found his car salesman tactics repugnant, his views completely out of sync with common sense and then when he got sick, I realized I didn't really hate Jack, I just vehemently opposed his views. Still do today.

In the case of Pierre Elliot Trudeau, he did a lot of things that pissed conservatives off. He ran us into huge debt, he used our military as a personal whipping post, he hung out with dictators, I could go on and on. But Trudeau also had qualities in his character you could respect. He was articulate, he wasn't afraid to stand toe to toe in a debate "Just Watch Me." and he stood up to the Quebec Separatists "Give them nothing!" And he loved Canada. [Just not Western Canada]

His son holds many of the same views his father did, but has none of the character traits.

He's obviously out of his element, but I'm sure PET would be proud of him nonetheless.

Meh. Smoking pot is as dumb as smoking cigarettes. I really don't give a shirt about your bitches and moans about marijauna , aND now that it is legal I don't give a shit about your excitement too. It's a non issue...just like the neighbor''s nicotine addiction.

Putting a foreign substance in your body to alter your mind is dumb. But sometimes its fun to be dumb.
I use medical marijuana to control my tinnitus, and it has helped me immensely.
As for legalizing it outright, I think the time has come, it's no worse than alcohol and definitely better than cigarettes.

Do you think he would be proud of the fact that he, as our P. M. treats illegal immigrants better than our own people, including our vets?

I am not sure exactly what the interest or significance is of this thread. Most normal people are proud of their son unless he is a dope peddler or an axe murderer or child molester which I'm pretty sure precludes Justin. I don't particularly care for Justin as a Prime Minister and I doubt if we have many interests in common but all that aside he's probably a fairly normal man and besides his Dad is dead so what is the point of the thread?

Very well written post with which I agree with entirely! :)
(BTW, I think Justin has inherited most of his mother's traits and genes) Just sayin'.

Who gives a shit!

That link I put in my O.P. basically says it all.

It speaks of our ignoring our own First Nation people and their plight, the poor and our Vets and their situation, while catering to those who are not yet citizens and are here illegally.

Vaporizing seems to be catching on more than edibles.

I would not argue that eating is not better than straight smoking as I agree with you on that.

Yep, but why bring it up in another thread where it doesn't even relate to the title of the thread, especially where there is already one or more threads covering Indigenous people, and Refugees and squalor on reserves etc. What else needs saying except one more opportunity to slam Trudeau (who I have very little use for)

When PET left office he pretty much left public life. He was a private and withdrawn individual - his younger party days aside. As he aged he seemed to mellow. I think his early upbringing in the Jesuit tradition informed his entire life, and most especially his older age.

and what father would not be proud of a son like Justin Trudeau?

Not to mention what it does for your boogaloo situation. . .

As for legalizing it outright, I think the time has come, it's no worse than alcohol and definitely better than cigarettes.
Yep. When illegalization does more damage to society than leaving it alone, it's time to leave it alone.

Which, by the way, is what the Netherlands does. I was shocked to find that possession of cannabis is still a felony in the Netherlands. There is merely a long-standing governmental policy of tolerance.

I wish we could do that. But in our system, one local DA with Jesus and a run for governor on his mind could and would totally screw the situation.
