“Well as you know, wind has to blow for wind power to be effective.“

Because...

I called the media support line for this press release issues today, to ask a couple of questions, here are the answers:

1. Q: Besides the heat wave, what other factors are contributing? A: “A Natural Gas plant of 775 megawatts went offline last night. The San Onofre nuclear plant remains offline with no restart scheduled.”

2. Q: Where is wind power in all of this, is it performing? A: “Well as you know, wind has to blow for wind power to be effective. “
The graph from CAISO tells the story, wind power has tumbled when it is most needed:

Obviously Watts does not understand the concept of base load capacity any more than you do. There was no thought that California will have sufficient installed capacity or the back up diversity to fill in for this. It will, though.

Remarkably (sarcasm) Watts made no comment when Wind power completely filed the void created by massive power faiures in Texas earlier tis year.

He is a vile piece of work and I wonder why anyone with any claim to integrity or intelligence would read his filth.

California has a mindset that can only be dispelled by a protracted encounter with hard cold external reality. Californians will have to suffer in order to bring them to the consciousness that they have been foolish.

Does this mean that he does not follow you faithfully? Or just that you been proved wrong again?
BTW I actually use both wind and solar power. How about you?

Watts follows only the money and where his ego leads.

Wrong again! Don't be silly. Read what I wrote and try to apply a little sense to any response. The facts are as I wrote. Wind Power will not supply base load until there is a greater degree of interconnectedness and supplementary renewable source. Aso, you try to slide away from the Texas situation that I referred to. Explain, if you can, why Watts choses to ignore that.

And what does the source of your electricity have to do with anything?

I am so impressed! Not. When are you going to start paying attention to the Planet's biggest problem and do your part in trying to retain something to conserve and make better?

It was a couple of California guys that got Alberta going with the windmills, they did windy ridges near Palm springs and then moved to Canada and now we have the cowley windmills, hundreds of them and they put a new one up as fast as they can ship the components. They are huge and each one can power 300 homes and they do cost more then other energy but some pay for the green energy, your given a choice here in Alberta.

The only wind power that has a chance of being successful is from the
politicians who promote it If they can keep flapping their gums there is
still a chance. In practical terms the only ones to benefit from wind power
will be those who build the machines. People will turn against it due to
the noise, and companies will abandoned it because it won't produce
enough power.

There's plenty of wind coming off the ocean and hills. But it is not being harnessed properly and it poses a severe risk for certain birds. Wind along with other alternate methods can and should be encouraged. However, wind in itself is not entirely efficient.

That's been brought up before and the # 1 killer of birds is cars, followed by cats, windmills are way down the list.

The new models are built with smooth edges so birds cant build nests on them like they like to do.

And the oil company's are pretty well running them now as they own them.

Deregulation in Alberta was bad for the province, power is now a huge commodity.

In the midwest windmills are the biggest killers of eagles. I don't know if that is a major problem in California but, hopefully, condors won't face that problem.

I already mostly ignore bull**** artists like you. What more can I do to make the world better other than eliminate ecoloonies?
