We could use Suzuki's plan and eliminate about 4 billion people from the planet. let me know in advance if this is the chosen plan so I can buy mortuary shares.

I won't argue with that. But I will stand by the fact that we need to address the impacts we are having on the planet, across the board, not just the climate.

I say the hell with it. Let the whole thing go up in smoke and enjoy it as much as we can for the time that it lasts. You guys are wasting your time, there is no solution.

How about we start with you. By the looks of it, that would be a huge reduction.

By destroying the planet we will likely be doing it to our own extinction. That is a solution in itself.
Just enjoy it while it's happening. Don't think about it to hard.

And in a few million years earth will be right back to perfect again.

I'm actually enjoying decreasing my carbon footprint. I grew up without power, running water, so just using less is real easy.

We can most of our own vegetables, we get most of our meat from my friends eco friendly farm, and the rest I get from hunting and fishing. We butcher it ourselves. We heat with wood, selectively harvested by horsepower. We help, to defer costs.

In fact, most of that was the very nature of my people long before the Europeans arrived here.

So when you speak of human nature, you speak of your own.

How so?

Oh, I can't wait to hear this one, lol.

Reducing your carbon footprint is not a solution. Its only delaying the inevitable, by a few years. Maybe?

I'm happy your enjoying torturing yourself though.. Have fun with that.

LOL, that's not being a hypocrite.

If you want to see an example of a hypocrite, look at Flossy. Burns fuel driving from Mississauga to Toronto daily, lives in a development that has had a huge impact on the environment and wildlife.

While he moans and wails about conservative inaction on the environment.

I'm happy your enjoying torturing yourself though.. Have fun with that.
It's not torture. I even said we enjoy what we do. As always, we do it as a family, and/or community.

That's how we change things, not by arbitrary legislation that hurts people.

It's idiots like you that are the reason we are in the shape we are in. Doing something, is better than doing nothing.

As far as "hypocrisy" goes....... you obviously have no idea what the word means. Maybe get one of your kids to explain it to you.

No, it isn't, us changing our carbon footprint is us trying to do something, if only to make ourselves feel better, it's something. It caught on. The farm we get our meat from is owned by my friend, who followed our lead. The farm is now completely solar and wind powered. Other people in our community that learned of it from my youngest boy and their son, while selling farm fresh eggs and chickens approached our friends and now we have a co op. It's not hard, it actually requires very little effort and time for a lot of pay off.

In fact, it was the fact that I was a hypocrite about the environment, that got us to expand our efforts.

Ok then what is it?
Doing our part.

Changing your carbon footprint Is not a solution.
It's part thereof.

So your only fooling yourself?
Nope.

How would you call that? Being a?
Human?

It is, and there's no need for envy. You can do it too. It only takes a little leg work to start.

If more people did, we could actually cause change.

It's something I would have loved in my younger days, before my children when I still had free time enough to think of ways to save earth.
Now I'm just living paycheque to paycheque, until my kids are all grown up. I'm not sure I could pull something like that ATM but maybe one day.

Dude, the economy crashed, and landed on us! We almost lost everything! Oh the joys of owning a small business. It's cheaper to work with a farm co op than buying meat and vegetables at the grocery store. There are young families in our co op. I've seen them having fun teaching their youngins to tend a garden, feed a goat, or water the chickens.

You can do it, you just need to search out a co op in your area. I bet you meet new people and actually find joy in it.

You will be surprised at what you can do when you start looking around. Granted it is harder in the country than in a city. Most cities have programs or at least groups of people that are working at reusing and recycling and you have transit to get around some of the time. most of us have a grayhound once a day as public transit.
