If Canada was to turn off the taps tonight, Americans would be here tomorrow morning.

Unfortunately for us they have NAFTA which now entitles them to our oil. Even if we as a country (Canada) did not produce enough oil to cover our own consumption and could not fill our own homes with heating oil, we would by agreement still have to supply the U.S. with their current amount of oil import. The U.S. before us.

As of yesterday the US contractors have more employees in Iraq than the US military system does. That has to get some attention. All are in a "No Bid" situation too which means a lot of US taxpayer dollars are going out with very little control or oversight. Oil is the issue and to date it has produced very little (if any) net income to who ever the funds were to go to. The Iraqi people are not seeing any of it in a meaningful way either. The entire oil producing system is under constant attack and requires a huge commitment of skilled personnel 24/7 to try to keep it flowing. So far the score is US 0 and the bad guys 1.

America is still one of the greatest countires on earth. That rag as you put it is one of the most valuable pieces of our evolution ever put to Law.
Bashing for the sake of bravado in a forum to create some image is all well and fine.
But to disgrace a work that actually gives you the right to post in freedom here is lame.
I Love America and all that is good about America.
You can't forget about the good. Hell they are just doing what Europe, Rome, and every other Empire has done on this planet to remain an Empire. Of which you are a part of.

Go ahead and defend the US constitution - but don't think for a second that US civil liberties have anything to do with ours.

The US constitution is not the Canadian Bill Of Rights And Freedoms.

Are you asking for a leader of a superpower or the superpower itself ? Because I'll tell you I don't want the leader of the superpower being involved in any oil or large scale corporation, and have the second in command to be a former CEO of a corporation that profits from war and who is still on the payroll. Along with a congress full of top corporate used to be's such as former Monsanto employees now in the FDA. Miss Rice also being a former oil employee. Your gov't is littered with former corporate and oil upper heads that now have the power of gov't to strengthen their former employer's.

Sooooo you see absolutly no influence from US constitution in our Charter.

We were a shade ahead of being nothing more than serfs for chrissakes before the US constitution.
I say a shade ahead....

It influenced the world and our place in it....true the rich rule....being white still has it's advantages...the poor ...well ..tell me about it...but it caused a definitive change in the paradigm of being any citizen anywhere.

Its not nearly as big a deal as you think, it was big, but most of the changes were already under way since the Magna Carta.

Who's fault is that? You can't blame the U.S., great deal if you can get it. How stupid are we?

Actually, it is behaving quite differently. It is not annexing territory, nor is it spreading any sort of political dominion around the globe, nor is it using its military to even a remote level of its power to establish its dominance.

Why don't we examine the "liberation" of Iraq? Why don't we ask why "Operation Iraq Freedom", in concert with the brutal sanctions, has killed well over a million Iraqis? Why was the infrastructure of every major city in Iraq destroyed when all we needed was to get the Iraqis out of Kuwait? All kinds of questions, not many answers.

Actually Iran has been threatening the U.S. a lot more than vice versa. Funny how that goes unnoticed. You know, the whole Death to America thang.

When did Iran threaten the USA? Give specific instances.

Well pakistan, iraq, iran and afhganistan are producing the terror. We need to completely take control of these countries, kill all the present leadership, Karzaii and the other puppets in iraq are ok for now.
exterminate all the fanatica there by taking a huge chunk out of terror.
Muslims would benefit the most for the inane factions that are ruining this great religion would no longer do damage.

Iran has not produced terror. Iraq only experience terrorism when Bush invaded.

I'm in agreement, however, that Pakistan and Afghanistan have produced terrorism. But they did so when the CIA imposed dictatorships in both.

What is this, a homework assignment?

Easiest one ever if it is.

America's war on terrorism did not begin in September 2001. It began in November 1979.
That was shortly after Ayatollah Khomeini had seized power in Iran, riding the slogan "Death to America" - and sure enough, the attacks on Americans soon began. In November 1979, a militant Islamic mob took over the U.S. embassy in Tehran, the Iranian capital, and held 52 Americans hostage for the next 444 days.
The rescue team sent to free those hostages in April 1980 suffered eight fatalities, making them the first of militant Islam's many American casualties. Others included:
April 1983: 63 dead at the U.S. embassy in Beirut.
October 1983: 241 dead at the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut.
December 1983: five dead at the U.S. embassy in Kuwait.
January 1984: the president of the American University of Beirut killed.
April 1984: 18 dead near a U.S. airbase in Spain.
September 1984: 16 dead at the U.S. embassy in Beirut (again).
December 1984: Two dead on a plane hijacked to Tehran.
June 1985: One dead on a plane hijacked to Beirut.

Tehran's Freedom Square was filled with tens of thousands of people celebrating the Islamic Republic of Iran's founding. It was also filled the sounds of "Death to America."
...
In a speech on Monday, Khatami condemned the U.S. and urged Iranians to support the fight against the external enemy.

During prayer at a rally this week, thousands of Muslims in Iran chanted, "Death to America!, Death to America!" Huge banner signs are seen saying in english, "Down with America."

On October 26, 2005, when Iranian dictator Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed before the whole world to "wipe Israel off the face of the earth," he also vowed in the same speech to destroy America.

Iran threatened the United States with "harm and pain" Wednesday if the U.S. tries to use the U.N. Security Council

In recent weeks, prominent Iranian figures have issued statements against the West, both within the government and in the newspapers close to the regime. These statements include threats to U.S. and European interests and targets throughout the world.

More saber-rattling from Tehran

Another high-ranking Iranian Ayatollah said that being surrounded by US troops "works to our advantage. It means that the US is now within our firing range in the East, West, and elsewhere." The US has to be taken out of the picture before Iran can make good on its pledge to wipe Israel off the map. To this end Iran has mounted attacks against the US monetary system, is involved behind the scenes in Iraq, and claims to have sleeper cells in the US ready to launch terror attacks against the infrastructure and even civilian population centers.

http://influencepeddler.blogspot.com/2006/07/iran-threatens-us.html
"They have been trained and they can become fully armed. We are ready to dispatch them to every corner of the world to jeopardise Israel and America's interests. We are only waiting for the Supreme Leader's green light to take action. If America wants to ignite World War Three ... we welcome it," he said.

“If you [Americans] behave with disrespect even just a little bit, [the Iranian people] will punch you in the mouth so hard that all your devouring teeth will fall out.” So warned Iran's Ayatollah Mohammad Ememi-Kashani in a Friday sermon at Tehran University, which aired on January 28, 2005, on Iranian TV channel 1.

Edit: Of course, I could go on and on, but I think the point is made.
