back to our discussion. Thank you for standing up for your believes. Yes a lot of countries have some arrogance in them but not to the level of the average G.I. Joe.

I'm shocked your a muslim and you know nothing about French racism against muslims. And as far as arrogance goes they top the European list.

Everything else you talk about are pre-conceptions you have and thats about all it is and I assume you have never been to the US.

Don't be shocked that being a Muslim and know nothing about the french. I do know. But i am shocked for telling us that you were sitting with 2 guys one from Kuwait and the other from Eygpt and they offered you a drink. Do you know that muslims don't drink and if they do, not in public.

One was a bartender and didn't drink (obviously) and the Kuwaiti drank, no clue what he was drinking. And I know muslims don't drink, I see them and interact with them everyday.

Funny, muslims here (at least in NY) have different views, why do they bother coming I wonder?

I have been to the state and i do not enjoy being there even with my canadian passport. They keep me at the airport for hours. Last time I tried to go through the border. They wrecked my brand new van looking for boogyman. Turned around and said fuck it. I can get whatever i want from Canada.

since you asked an honest question......it deserves an honest answer. YES.(absolutly ----and many are very rude.) Not in all areas. California is really great. But that might be the west coast personality that transcends the border. I was amazed at how nice people are in New Orleans. ( particularly as it came after a visit to Dallas----- not nice) The contrast was remarkable.

S.Carolina is great too. Nevada is different as it has people coming from all over the world. ......so it has a delightful international flavor to it. similar to here......except no casinos and humongous hotels/clubs here .

BUT......I have not been to the US since bush took office and don't plan to go back until things settle down some. I have friends that go every two weeks .......and hear about how they are treated by the US guards . (border "security") and it is not pleasant.

We have 6 million muslims living in the US and they pour in every year through NY. You can't hate a country and then move to it, why are there perceptions different?

Who said they fled their country. These people are like me who freely come and go to their land. This is the greatest gift any human being could have. I was given the opportunity by Canada to live, prosper and travel to my land at any time of my liking. Even when I was giving my oath to the Judge, she told me you be faithful to your mother country first. That is so honorable. I wonder if you have the same down there. but i know you have Guantanamo.

Well thats quite alright Ocean, that you call the US a sick society, many before have said the same thing and many continue to say it. But none of you ever realize that when you say that, you are basically calling all the peoples of the world sick, because thats who we are. We don't pay attention (must be the arrogance).

Interesting however how you snapped as soon as I made that statement, perhaps you should think about why you did instead of jumping and presuming arrogance and passing a medical diagnosis over the internet.

Many flee and many come willfully. Immigration is the heart and soul of America. No, the judge did not tell me to be faithful to my mother country first.

The judge did tell us however:

"You are becoming Americans by choice, you came forward to say I want to be a part of this, and as a representative of the US government and the American people I am humbled by your presence"

Yes we have Guantanamo, not the best chapter of US history, but its there and we have to deal with the consequences of the current administration. But it takes alot more than Guantanamo, Iraq and anti-Americanism to bring down what is America.
