Why Changing The Spelling of Woman/Women to 'Womyn' is Not Very Feminist

The other day my wife and I were having a bit of a laugh at the expense of the feminazis. The joke centered around the idea of Womyn's Studies and how they swapped out the a/e for y so the word doesn't end in man or men.
That's when I realized just how incredibly stupid this whole thing is.

In their hilariously desperate attempt to escape the "maleocracy", the letter they used as a replacement is the denotation for the male chromosome.
Once again demonstrating that the progressives are in such a blind rush to take a wrecking ball to everything they dislike/don't agree with, they can't even see the obvious problems in their "solutions".

The word "woman" comes from the Anglo-Saxon "wīfmann", meaning "female human."

The word for "man" in Old English was "wēr."

"Mann" or "monn" meant "human".

It was only by the late 1200s that "mann" or "monn" replaced "wēr" to mean "male human".

Vestiges of the old system, though, still survive in English, when we use the word "man" to mean "humans" or "humanity."

So feminists changing "woman" to "womyn" need to be told that the "-man" bit in the word originally didn't mean "man" - it meant "human".

Similarly, the word "girl" meant either a young female or a young male in medieval England. It was only in the early 1500s when it became used to only describe a young female.

Do you figure that re-branding Womyn is going to change the demand for them,?

No, I mean the social engineers decide that they're gonna use "womon" and "womyn" to try to empower women, and another set of social engineers decide to pump it up far beyond its real importance. Then they market the idea, hoping it will become a meme.

Works, too. Ignoring nonsense and getting on with it used to be considered a manly virtue. Not anymore.
